Etched leather map journal

I just gave this leather journal as a birthday gift to my son, and he really liked it. The leather cover personalized with the chicago shoreline made it a special gift, and one that he can hopefully use and enjoy for many years.More > < Less

The Brooklyn journal is one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen. I purchased as a gift, but it took all I had to actually give it away since it was so wonderful. The size, the detail and the fabulous smell of the leather blew me away. I would love to own one of these - the Paris journal or the New Orleans journal will be next on my gift list. Exquisite - you will not be disappointed!More > < Less

I ordered the Pittsburgh book for my granddaughter who goes to school there. It's beautiful, and she was thrilled with it. I really liked how the cover is "tailored" to fit the cityscape of the 3 rivers. The leather is nice; a great pencil is included, and the notebook inside is fountain pen friendly. So good I ordered another one for myself.More > < Less

About Tactile Craftworks

Love of Heritage

A fresh take on a traditional craft, these etched leather notebook covers and passport wallets are built to last a lifetime and pay tribute to your favorite city.

They’re made entirely in America with incredible attention to detail. Makers Sarah Kirkham and Anna Warren, who live in Milwaukee, decided to source their materials and do all manufacturing locally. The supple leather hides come from a local Milwaukee tannery. They are hand-cut and laser-engraved with antique, early 20th-century maps of U.S. cities right in the Maker’s hometown.

Since everything is so close by, Sarah and Anna are engaged at every stage of the process, from hand-selecting the materials to adding the finishing, post-technology touches to their work.

Tactile Craftworks journals come equipped with a removable (and replaceable) Moleskin notebook. So you can fill up as many pages as you want again, and again. Regardless of what you fill them with, these heirloom-quality covers wear beautifully and are worthy of your best ideas.
