Hand Embroided Gown

6/16/2017 by Lolly

The stitching on this gown is very pretty, however I found the fabric to be too thin and see through. I will return this product. Thank you, Lolly

pretty but thin material

5/4/2016 by paula

I ordered this nightgown for the beautiful embroidery and the good feeling of helping the women of Haiti. I do love the embroidery and I will keep the nightgown but.......It is almost see through thin. Think of the thinnest fabric, it can not be worn without a robe and I am not shy around my family. It came quickly and I was initially confused because the package envelope weighed nothing. I have no issue with the sizing.More > < Less

rather disappointed

6/20/2019 by Sheila

The night gown looked fabulous when it arrived. Crisp, white cotton with elegant embroidery. I washed it before using - when it was washed theed the cotton was limp, not at all crisp- evening ironing did not not bring back the crispness - and on one corner of the label, the thread came loose leaving the label just hanging.

For the price that this item cost I was extremely disappointed. I get a better quality 100% cotton nightgown from England for a quarter of the price, free shipping over $50 and delivery in 2 days - not 2 - 3 weeks!!!
I am happy to help the women of Haiti - next time I will send them a donation directly and buy my nightgowns elsewhere!!

The nightgown is just as advertised except there is a small hole in the fabric on the front.

About Haiti Projects

Embroidered Help for Haiti

Haiti was an impoverished country even before the devastating earthquake, but now more than ever, we’re all looking for ways to help that will really have a lasting impact. Sarah Hackett has been working in Haiti for the past 16 years. As the founder of Haiti Projects, Inc., she’s all about grassroots projects that enable the Haitians to help themselves. Hackett is fighting poverty on multiple fronts—supporting local medical clinics, building libraries to foster literacy, providing micro-loans to farmers—but it’s her work with a sewing cooperative that we’re featuring.

What you get is a classic nightgown, perfectly cut and beautifully embroidered. This could be the perfect gift for a woman you love, or a little extravagance for yourself. What you give is support to Haitian women who are enabled to work from home and earn fair wages for their craft. This income provides for food and school fees for their children.

Mary Ann McCormick from Lark Fine Foods (we love her gourmet cookies) told us about Haiti Projects and its needlework cooperative. “I have several of these nighties and I can honestly say that they are quite beautiful and very well made,” Mary Ann says.

They’re not like anything you’ll find at the local mall, plus these may be the only nighties that come with the knowledge that you’re helping to make a difference.
