Flat out comfort

Ahh, the hammock…You’re probably smiling just thinking about kicking back and relaxing in one. But the truth is that getting comfortable in most hammocks isn’t as easy as you imagine. That’s why Hammock Bliss came up with the Sky Bed, the first two-point hammock asymmetrically designed to deliver the flattest sleep surface the hammock market has ever laid its eyes or back on. Company Founder and Chief Relaxation Officer, Dov Frazer created the Sky Bed in conjunction with Chief Design Maven, Mark Gruskin. The duo were inspired by their extensive outdoor experience and 15 years of customer input. The result is a hammock in a bag built for comfort and convenience. When not in use, the Sky Bed balls right up and weighs only 23 oz. It even comes with 100" of super strong 6 mm climbing rope that can be used to hang the hammock. Optional Tree Straps are sold separately. The hammock itself is constructed of high-strength ripstop nylon sewn together in panels and reinforced with webbing. The material is soft, breathable, quick drying, and mildew-resistant and features a built-in sleeve to accommodate sleeping pads up to 20 in. wide and 72 in. long. Perfect for anywhere from the backyard to the campground, the Sky Bed by Hammock Bliss is every bit as dreamy as it sounds.

@Guest Hi, Aaron from The Grommet here. The Sky Bed is known as a gathered-in hammock which means the material bunches at the ends. In these hammocks, you keep much of the weight centered in the middle of the laying surface, which significantly reduces the chance for flipping.

The hammocks that more easily flip over have the long wooden spreaders at each end and are pulled very taught. This means you can distribute weight over an area further from the attachment points, creating a bit of instability.

Or, think of balancing a pencil on your finger. If you balance the pencil near the middle of the instrument, you should have an easy go of it. But if you try and balance the pencil further from the middle, you see how easily it wavers.
