Glass Gourds

Everlasting Gourds

Pumpkins and gourds are the quintessential symbols of fall, and artist Aron Leaman has perfectly captured their whimsical, organic forms. His hand-blown glass sculptures, complete with curly stems, make festive autumnal centerpieces and paperweights -- without any mess. Squirrels won’t eat them, and they’ll never rot.

Working out of his studio on Cape Ann in northeastern Massachusetts, Aron creates each pumpkin and gourd from
molten glass that he skillfully manipulates and sculpts using blow pipes and carved molds. The colors are rich and vibrant, and the way the light plays on the smooth, grooved surfaces is incredible. Each unique piece, signed by the artist, has a vibe all its own.

Fall foliage is fleeting, but these sculptural beauties are ready for a long life beyond Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Grommet Launch Conversation

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well and fine in the your world. I have been making my fall harvest one pumpkin at a time getting ready to show and share today. The fall is a wonderful time and perfect weather to blow glass. The heat has left and I go from drinking two gallons of water to now only one. The pumpkins are a true pleasure to make in my favorite season. I am ready for questions and I hope you decide to brighten up your home with color, smiles, and glass. If my answers are brief it is because I will be answering them via text and I am not very fast. I hope you enjoy the pumpkins as much as I do making them.

I went to my Daily Gromit email today and saw the pumpkins and thought of you immediately and then saw your name! I knew it was YOUR work... I purchased a couple of pumpkins from you at a craft show in Lexington a few weeks ago. I absolutely love them, I purchased one as a gift and had to have one for myself, a real treat! It was so nice meeting you in person, you are an excellent craftsmen and I look forward to seeing more of your work!

@Sally: The small pumpkins only come in the orange and purple sets. We are the only online retailer of this collection and in order to make them available in multiple colors, we needed to focus and simplify our offering. We hope you'll consider getting a set, gifting the larger pieces and keeping the little one for yourself. Although it is a bit bigger, the medium blue pumpkin makes a terrific year round paperweight too.
