The Laundry Guard

Stay on Top

If you’ve recently reached deep behind your dryer to retrieve a wayward, and now lint-caked, sock while doing laundry, you have a kindred spirit in Julie Savalas.

She’s an artist and housewife, and now third-generation inventor, thanks to the Laundry Guard. Julie’s first invention is a fence that keeps freshly-cleaned items from
falling onto the floor or, even worse, behind your front-loading washer and dryer.

Laundry Guard attaches magnetically atop the back and sides of either one or both machines (as long as they are aren’t stacked). It’s easy to put in place and definitely easier than trying to rescue that sock. The guard itself is made with a high-quality resin, so there’s no risk of it melting or warping. And, voila, your washer and dryer is now a worry-free folding surface.

Once the Laundry Guard is on top of your machines, your clean laundry will stay there too.

    What are the dimensions? It doesn't look adjustable so I want to make sure it will fit our machines. Thanks.

    @Youssef , welcome! The Laundry Guard will fit nearly all front loading machines. The sides are 21"' the height is 8", and each of the two back sections are 26.25" wich allows them to be used one one or two machines!

    @julie

    And yes, it is completely adjustable! There are hinges at the corners and in the middle that allow you to use either one or two of the back sections

    I have a front loader (Maytag) but the dials and controls are all on the back top. Does this set have adjustments for those machines?

    @Mary Ann

    Hi Mary Ann! It was designed for front loading washers and dryers because they are completely flat on top. If you were to put it on a top loading machine, you would have to reach over the top of the Laundry Guard to access the controls. If you wouldn't mind doing that, perhaps you could use it just on your dryer since the door is on the front of the machine!

    @Julie Both the washer and the dryer are front loaders in my set but again the control panel is at the back and not on the front as the one in your video.

    Hi Julie first of all--good luck with your venture I have a washing machine that shakes so bad that I can't anything on top how much would it be to purchase 1 extra piece for the washer side and maybe this would keep things from falling off ? thanks NAN

    @Nannette

    Hi Nanette! There are four sections in a set. You wouldn't need an additional section unless you were planning on putting it on the front of the machine! The Laundry Guard will keep everything from falling off the sides and back of the machines. Thanks!

    @Julie

    Nanette, thank you for your good luck wish! I would also like to tell you that you can probably stop your machine from shaking by adjusting the little feet underneath them. The feet have screws that allow you to lower or raise them to level the machines. It worked for me!

    @Julie

    Just wanted to add that this also sounds like a good idea for those of us who are famous for tossing stuff up on top of the fridge.

    @Karen

    I love that idea Karen! I haven't tried it, but I think it would work if you had enough room between the top of the fridge and the ceiling. Two sides and a back would be perfect!

    My washer and dryer do not sit next to each other. Would I need to get two sets?

    @Susan

    Hi Susan! You would have the option of using three sections on one of your machines or purchasing an additional set if you were to want it on both. I find that in that situation you would be quite happy to just have it on your dryer for when you are folding/stacking clothes!

    Hi Robyne!

    At this time it is just available in white! We are considering other colors, gray being the favorite at this point. For future reference, what color were you looking for?

    @Julie Yes, I would like gray or silver, since my machines are the stainless steel color. I think your invention is a great idea!

    @Dee Dee

    Thanks Dee Dee! That's one more vote for gray! However, I must say that white looks crisp and clean on gray, red and blue machines!

    @Julie I'll keep checking back to see if you add gray or silver that would blend with my stainless steel set (that I waited years to buy.) I'd love to have a set for the refrigerator and the freezer to keep stuff falling off the back. Best wishes with your new venture!

    Awesome Idea! I saw the comment below about machine shake, mine does that too. Are the magnets strong enough to keep the laundry guard on? Thanks, ordering now!
