A Hot Spot

Anyone who has ever used a hair dryer or a hot styling tool like a curling or flat iron knows how hard it is to find a secure place to set it down. Placing them on the counter is precarious and could damage the surface or worse, result in a burn; not to mention the obvious risk of a whole mess of electrical cords near the bathroom sink, toilet and tub. Never fear—The Hot Iron Holster is here. The Hot Iron Holster is a heat resistant pocket that keeps hot irons & hair dryers safe and organized in the bathroom, bedroom, dorm room, even the salon. Made of 100% silicone, it consists of two parts: A pouch for holding styling tools and a flap specially formulated to cling to any smooth, non-porous household surface. No screws or sticky adhesive is required. It's easy to remove and reuse over and over again. The patented design is the brainchild of busy mom Erin Balogh. Realizing that two toddlers, a curling iron and a pedestal sink were a recipe for disaster, she went in search of a solution. When she couldn’t find one that didn’t require mounting, she came up with an idea that stuck.

Why isn't this made in the US?? That's the only way I'd buy it and I really need one of these !

@Guest - Thanks for your question! Most silicone products are manufactured in China to minimize manufacturing costs. That allows us to offer the Hot Iron Holster at a great price to our customers! We are a California-based company and all of our design, packaging, and fullfillment functions are sourced in the U.S. We are looking at options for U.S.-based manufacturing in the future.

    Have a great day!

My counter top is tile & grout, will the holster stick to it?

@Greg - The Hot Iron Holster will stick to any smooth, sealed tile. The Hot Iron Holster does not stick to grout, but grout lines are relatively small and the flap of the Holster will stick well to the tile (which is the majority of the surface area). I use one on my tile countertop in my bathroom everyday.

    Thanks for your question!

Hi Erin, This looks GREAT! I've been looking for something just like this.

My question ... is there a max temperature it can withstand? My flat iron goes up pretty high and with East coast humidity, I typically use the highest setting. Thanks!

@Kate - Thanks Kate! The Hot Iron Holster is heat resistant to 500 degrees F. My personal flat iron reaches 450 degrees and I always use the highest heat setting to overcome my naturally curly hair.

    All the best,

    Erin

Just to be clear about the use of the product...Can the hot styling products be 'on' when using the Hot Iron Holster, or is this used after the items have been unplugged and are in the cooling stage?

Hi @Renee great question. As the heat resistance is up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, you may be good to go with your tools turned fully on depending on the heat settings for your device. I know my hot iron only reaches 400 degrees, so I was all set. Make sure to check your tools first!

@Renee - Hi Renee, the thing I love about the Hot Iron Holster is that is can be used during warm up, while styling my hair, and during cool down. If I need to set down my flat iron to grab a brush, I just put it in the pocket and it is hot a ready to go when I need it again.

    Thanks for the question,

    Erin

@Angela - Thanks Angela! Very good advice on checking with the settings on your tools since we all have different models. The Hot Iron Holster has been lab tested to be safe to use with tools that reach up to 500 degrees F. I always encourage customers to follow the manufacturer's safetly instructions for their specific styling tools and to not leave any heat related styling tool unattended while in use.

    Cheers,

Will this stick to painted wood?

    Thanks!

@Brenda - Hi Brenda, yes it will stick to painted wood, as long as the finished surface is still smooth. I have a painted breakfast table that I hang my daughter's Hot Iron Holster off of to do her hair while she eats breakfast. Works great!

    Did that help?

    Thanks,

    Erin
