Good morning, When we were living in San Diego, I purchased some shoes similar in style to the men's shoes shown here. I got them to wear at the beach because I wanted to have support and have a way to let the water out. The first time I wore them, some sand lodged itself inside the shoe and I came home with blisters. What can I expect from your women's shoes and what can my husband expect from the men's? Thank you!

@Marcia Hi Marcia, Aaron from The Grommet here. Great question and certainly something to consider. The women's Tidal shoes are specially designed with a water drainage system that easily allows water and air to flow in and out. This is also great for allowing sand to sift through. Even more, the sole is removable for any stubborn grains.

Regarding the men's shoes, they are more designed for trail walking, but they have mesh and openings throughout for supreme breathability. Again, the insole is removable and the shoe itself easily slips on and off, so you won't have to toil away with sand in your shoe.

I have a very narrow foot. How much adjustment could the Women's Water and Land Shoe give me?

@Pat Hi Pat, the Tidal shoe is highly adjustable due to the criss-cross laces. More specifically, the shoe is about 2.5 in. at its narrowest, from about the heel to the arch, and broadens to about 3.75 in. towards the front of the shoe, before tapering in around the toes. By tightening the laces, you can pull in the sides a bit, providing a more secure fit.

@Aaron I've had these shoes for about 3 years. Only complaint is the Velcro doesn't always hold. They wash well, comfortable and no worries about water puddles.

@Marcia Hi Marcia, May you clarify what you mean? What type of orthotic is it?
