A Recipe for Healthy Living

It’s that time of year, when many of us renew our resolve to eat healthier as we start feeling the effects of holiday indulgences. One of our favorite kitchenware design firms, Joseph Joseph, makes it easy to maintain that resolve... with a generous dash of style. The latest must-haves from the U.K. firm founded by twin brothers Antony and Richard Joseph are: * Shell Scale: You’ll enjoy mastering the art of portion control with this sleek, sculptural scale. The curved stainless steel bowl makes it easy to measure and pour ingredients, plus it doubles as a cover for the device, for compact storage. You can weigh both liquids and dry foods, up to a maximum of 11 lbs., and the “add and weigh” function lets you measure multiple ingredients in the same bowl. * Salad Spoon: This clever salad-serving set is a spoon within a spoon, designed to save space in your utensil drawer -- and to prevent you from losing one-half of your favorite salad servers. When you’re ready to toss and serve salad, simply push the two pieces gently apart. The Salad Spoon is made from dishwasher-safe SAN plastic. * Double Dish: This space-saving melamine dish disguises an underneath compartment that’s perfect for hiding pistachio shells, olive pits and other snack-food waste. The serving bowl rests on top of the collection bowl, with three curved corners that are just big enough for stashing the inedible remains of your healthy snacks. Chic, clever, convenient. As always, Joseph Joseph nails the perfect combination of great design and ease-of-use in their multifunctional kitchen gear.

About the 'double bowl' featured today...great concept! Question: do the bowls come apart so you can clean the bigger, outer bowl???

@Wendy: It measures in lbs, oz, ml, g, and fl oz. down to the tenth of a unit. The unit itself weighs 1 lb 10 oz. I hope this works for you!

Because design and function have to go hand in hand, I want to comment on the salad servers. Beautiful how they fit together...but they don't work that well. There's not enough solid area, so that any small items (cherry tomatoes, dried fruits, nuts) just fall through back into the bowl. Back to the drawing board.
