Modular Cat Scratching Blocks

Tetris Scratcher

KATRIS is part-time modular cat scratching post, part-time décor piece.

These modern cat scratchers are 100% recycled and made from 90% post-consumer material. The result is a nontoxic, super sturdy surface with minimal shredding that cats can’t keep their paws off.

It’s no coincidence that KATRIS bears a striking resemblance to
the old-school, classic game “Tetris.” Much like the colorful brick game, KATRIS modules can be organized and secured together with clips in myriad ways to suit your space. A module can double as a bookshelf, coffee table, shoe rack . . . even sitting area.

Maker Jeff Lin combined his background in design and experience in the paper industry to create a scratcher for his cat, Ceo (pronounced See-oh). Ceo loved scratching the strong flutes and liners and Jeff appreciated having significantly less cleaning up to do.

Eco-friendly, handcrafted, and attractive, this scratching post will be a favorite for both you and your feline family member.

I really like this idea. We have three cats and at least one post in every room. How long do these last (especially with three cats!!)

@Virginia We have a donation program that supports animal shelters. One of the shelters has more than 15 cats and KATRIS lasted a year so far and still going strong!

What is the material that is left behind when they scratch? I am hoping it is not splintery...?

@Tonya The core of KATRIS are made with 100% paper material that are tightly glued together with non-toxic white glue. Unlike other cat scratchers, KATRIS shreds very little and what's left behind is just small piece of paper. The small string you saw at the end of the video is not a shred from KATRIS.

@Robin I have one made of the same material and it does not shed. Rarely there is a single piece or two that comes free, but it doesn't shed like the cheaper ones we've all bought from a pet store!

I like the bonded together cat scratcher shown in the still photo. I'm confused as to what pieces of ilotz I would have to purchase to replicate that. Help.

@Patrick Hi Patrick, if you talk about the coffee table still photo in the video, it bonded together with L, O, T and Z shape blocks.

@Robin Will all those shapes be available at some point? I only see the ability to buy 2 different models?

I'd be hesitant to pay over $50 for a product that does not have replaceable scratching surfaces. It's going to start looking crappy after repeated use. What will convince me to buy this thing?

@Susan Hi Susan, we have many customers use KATRIS over a year and it still look new. KATRIS made from very high quality material with over 200+ sheets of premium paper, that's 3x-5x more than other cat scratchers in the market.

Can it be mounted to a wall to make shelves?
