Beautifully made

This was a gift for a 3-year-old; we spent several hours playing with it that day and he loved it. It is very well-made and sturdy, with no chance he could break it accidentally. He caught on to the concept right away but did need some assistance with construction, He was soon experimenting with different configurations and sending multiple marbles down at different intervals. I think the adults had just as much fun with it! It has held his interest since that first day, too.More > < Less

Quality worth the cost

This was a Christmas present for our 5 year old grandson. It was set up on the coffee table for a week and became a fascination with every visitor, young and old. The Xyloba was definitely the "go to toy" of the season. I love Grommet and talk about its products to almost everyone!More > < Less

Really Cool

We put this under the tree for a five-year-old who is getting into music, loves to play with marbles and is addicted to Legos. He did not understand what it was when he opened it and the jury is out until I hear from his parents, but I thought it was really cool and great way to combine multiple interests.More > < Less

Xyloba - The Marble Run That Makes Music

About Xyloba

Melodic Tower

Xylophone meets marble run in Xyloba, a building toy that encourages creativity, construction skills, and music appreciation. Created by Samuel Langmeier, a Swiss cellist in the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich, this handcrafted wooden marble run lets you compose your own melodies within the towers you build.

Langmeier was inspired by the chimes he heard in a toy marble run he found in his travels: What if a classic marble run could be made with a clear, rich sound that inspired kids to experiment with music? Forty-three years went into creating components that would improve sound quality, including beechwood tower parts, metal marbles, and interchangeable chimes.

Though an included sound book offers song ideas, Xyloba’s intuitive building system is meant for musical discovery that is new every time you use it. A toy like no other, Xyloba promotes fine motor skills, expands the imagination, and makes music composition fun.
