It actually works!

I was skeptical about this item but intrigued enough to buy one. It works very well! - just need a little water in the bottom of the device, shake a few times, and the peel is ready to slide off.
Would highly recommend for anyone who regularly hard-boils eggs. If it's a once-in-a-while, one-egg-at-a-time usage, then it's probably not worth the storage space.
I will be buying some of these for gifts in the future.
I bought the bright yellow color, it's very cheery.

The Negg is Fantastic!

I tried 2 other gadgets, ine from The Grommet, that was a fail, and the otger from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, also a fail. The Negg is simple and works very well plus no messy cleanup! Gave one to a friend, waiting to hear her opinion!!More > < Less

Hard boiling eggs

I've tried this with a small mason jar and it works! The trick to peeling hard boiled eggs was printed in Cook's Illustrated magazine about a year ago. Use a steamer basket! Bring a pot with a few inches of water to a boil, put eggs in the basket and suspend over the boiling water (not in the water), cover and cook for 15 minutes. Submerge eggs in an ice bath until cold. They peel easily under running water, but I know the Negg will work just fine.More > < Less

About The Negg

Eggcellent Peeler

Peel an egg without pulling your hair out.

Cold water and some shaking is all it takes for this hardboiled egg peeler to work. It’s a Made in the USA kitchen hero that conquers a dreaded chore sleekly.

Maker Bonnie Tyler signed up to bring deviled eggs to a party and—after a failed attempt at peeling—showed up with a bag of potato chips instead. After some prototyping and research at her local library, she cracked a solution.

Bonnie combined the elements of industrial peeling (i.e., vibration, movement, and water) to create something small, portable, and easy to use at home. That’s how The Negg was hatched. She even managed to get it manufactured in Connecticut, her own backyard.

Now you can de-shell your eggs with just cold water and a little bit of effort.
