Giving Out Loud

The founders of LSTN (lis-ten), Bridget Hilton and Joe Huff started their Los Angeles company with the idea of changing the world through sound, offering not only high fidelity headphones and earbuds for music lovers, but hope and inspiration to those with hearing loss. Like guitars, violins and pianos, these products are fabricated from wood, which channels a naturally warm and resonant sound. Additionally appealing, no trees are cut down to manufacture these eco-friendly sets. Top quality lumber scraps are reclaimed from furniture and flooring companies in the USA. Reviewers describe the sound as “flawless,” “well-rounded,” “balanced,” and “distortion-free." On their own, they’re great for audio lovers. But, just to turn it up a notch, LSTN partners with The Starkey Foundation, whose mission is to deliver the transformative gift of sound to the hearing impaired around the world. For every LSTN headphone sold, a hearing aid is donated, making these a gift for your ears and for humanity.

Hi, I'm Bridget from LSTN. We started this company to change the world through the power of music. Our headphones are made from reclaimed wood. For every pair sold, we help restore hearing to a person in need through the Starkey Hearing Foundation. It's an incredible feeling to see others hear music for the first time!

    Hi Bridget,

I would love to purchase a pair of these for myself and a couple as gifts. I like that you are using reclaimed wood and that part of the purchase price is donated for hearing impaired people.

It does not say anything in the product description about 'noise cancelling' . Do these have this feature? If not, would you consider making some that do?

Thanks in advance for your response, Holly

@Holly -- hi! Thanks for the question! While LSTN's headphones don't have batteries and are not official noise-canceling headphones, they are very effective at blocking outside noise while you're enjoying your music.

I tested the Troubadours in The Grommet office and found that the fit really isolates outside sound. I couldn't hear anything but the music -- excellent for focused work, and I kept jumping out of my seat when people approached me because I didn't hear them coming! ;)

Hi Kate! Are these wired and will they work with a Bose wave? If wired how long is the cable?

@Kathleen -- Hi! They are wired, and each style will work with radios, stereos and devices that have a standard headphone jack. LSTN headphones are designed to be plug & play. The cable is about 3 feet long.

@GS We do not currently make a cable that is longer than 3 feet. This is something that we will be offering in the future as an accessory though.
