Grommet Launch Conversation
-
Hello everyone! I'm proud to introduce Lusomé to The Grommet. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have!
-
What are some of the advantages in wearing Lusome over traditional pajamas?
-
They are extremely soft and comfortable to start. If you ever have night sweats, which 80% of women do at some point, you will be kept dry. The Fabric washes so well and will never shrink, pill, or fade. The fit is engineered for so many shapes and moves with you for comfort.
-
What was the inspiration behind this product?
-
My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 40. Seeing everything she had to go through, years of night sweats due to treatment I know I had to do something to help. Women are suffering in silence and we want them to be comfortable and feel beautiful.
-
Do you plan to offer sleepware for men?
-
@Robert We have had a lot of requests and are in development with tshirts and shorts. Should be ready by Fall 2016.
-
@Lara +1 on PJs for men!
-
Hi, I am wondering what the warmth level is with these. Are they suitable for cold, winter weather, Spring or are they lighter for Summer. I am thinking about the long pants and top. The sleep shirt seems like it would be worn in warmer weather.
-
@Ellen These are the weight and hand feel of your favourite tshirts. Light enough for spring summer and will keep you warm all winter. The moisture management technology acts as a form of temperature regulation. I adjust the style I sleep in based on season. I live in Canada so the Donna is perfect for cold nights and the Ava works all year but especially in warmer seasons.
-
I wish the pajama top and pant were available in pink or another choose than black or grey.
I know you have to start somewhere. -
@Leigh Hi, We do offer pink. Please contact the Grommet and they can get this for you if there is enough demand.
-
@Lara would love pink & white size xl pajamas My name is sharon
Thank u -
Another item that is made in China.
-
Hi Cindy, you are correct. Although I wouldn't consider this just any other item. You'll be hard pressed to find another line of luxury pajamas with moisture management technology. But we understand people have strict Made in the USA shopping principles.
If you want to know how you can help in bringing manufacturing back to the US, read this recent blog post I just wrote here. -
I would like to know the leg length of the pants.
-
@Marilee Hi there, the inseam is 30".
-
I am interested in when you might be offering a longer inseam, 32"? And what are the care instructions to prevent shrinkage?
Night sweats are miserable :( If the fabric works, it'll be the best news I have received all year! ) -
@Linda Indeed night sweats are the worst. The Donna pant has a relaxed fit and longer rise with 30" inseam, I am 5' 8" and it fits me perfect. Wash in gentle and cool in the drier and no shrinking ever.
-
@Lara - Yes, I agree with Linda. I am 5'10" and take a minimum 32" inseam in regular pants, 33" is better though. 30" not nearly long enough for us tall chicas, sorry. Need an option with a longer inseam IMO. I would definitely be interested in ordering these then.
-
Hi Jennifer, thanks for the comment! I'm sure Lara is taking in all of these suggestions as she expands the Lusome line. Keep a look out for updates!
-
In terms of size, my wife is 5'-6" and usually a size 8. What size should I order for her?
-
@Kevin In the Donna set I think a small would work unless she likes things more roomy a medium. I am about the same height and between 6-8 and I wear small in the Donna and Ava.
-
I echo Robert's comment and question below - when might you have these available for men? Would like to order some for my husband and me.
-
@Jane Hi Jane, we should have ready for fall 2016.
-
Would love to see the tops and bottoms sold separately. Also, would love more sleeve choices. I live in the south and am hot natured and a top with elbow sleeves suits some of us who want some sleeve with the ease to move at night and also for us who have issues with our upper arms!
-
@Angela Hi Angela, the pajama tops and bottoms are sold separately.
Marcia -
$164 for a set of PJs is lots of money ...especially when Chinese workers are inhumanely underpaid in China. Ihave no doubt these PJs are of good quality but the markup is too high.
-
@May I completely agree about the price. I was very excited to see these, but won't pay that price for a pair of pajamas.
-
@Pamela Thanks for the feedback, We worked so hard to make these available for all women. The technology is expensive and is built like the premium athletic branded fabrics and perform even better. Our factory overseas I have worked personally with for 20 years and is run but a lovely family who have the highest standard of quality and social compliance. We tried to have this sewn in North America and the retail price was close to $200 for a shirt.
-
Hey May! Check out this blog post that talks about what you can do to bring back American manufacturing here.
-
I have tried this wicking pj before and doesn't work. Why are you having them made in China ? I will not but anything from there !
-
@Charlynn We have tested against other "wicking" sleepwear brands in a 3rd party textile testing lab. Our fabric moves moisture 10 times more effectively than the other brands. We produce oversees as the machines to get the fine seaming and detailing is superior and the customer won't pay $200 for a shirt, which sadly would have been the cost producing in North America. Thanks for the feedback.
-
Hi Charlynn, if you want to learn about how you can help in bringing American manufacturing back, check out our recent blog post on the subject here. And did you mean anything but the device you used to comment?
-
Any men's sizes?
-
@Stephen Sorry should have read the string above before asking. I will look forward to men's versions, especially if there is a big sleep shirt.
-
No problem, Stephen! We will send an update if they are available on site!
-
What about the Men? we sweet too!
-
@David Wow, so much demand for mens. We will get working on this asap! Thanks for the feedback.
-
You're right, David! We are sweet!
-
Any chance of adding petite sizes for us vertically challenged ladies?
-
@Lucy Hi Lucy we do have some other styles suitable for petite. The Ava works great for the 5' 4" and under gals. Ask the Grommet for Petite and with demand we can offer more styles. Thanks.
-
You remarked that you wanted to make these pj's available for all women but do not offer plus sizes. Do you have any plans to offer plus sizes in the future?
-
@Jane Thanks Jane. We worked hard to make affordable for all women. We go up to XL in a generous knit spec which covers up to size 20. We are still a new company and have lots of plans to add styles, sizes, mens, sheets etc.
-
Do you have other items beyond the Donna and Ava? I really like wearing nighties without sleeves. Thanks.
-
@Ava Hi Ava, wow you have the same name as our featured nightie! We do have some other sleeveless styles. Ask the Grommet and with enough demand they will add some more styles. Thanks for the comment, and love your name.
-
I would like to purchase the Evelyn top and Valerie pants. Can I buy that through Grommet? Also, I am 5' tall, 107 lbs, what size do I need?
-
@Allyson Hi Allyson, thanks for the note. Please request from the Grommet these additional styles and with enough demand the Grommet will add more Lusome. :)
-
@Lara Thanks! What size would I need?
-
A small should fit perfectly, Allyson!
-
I would like to know more about sizing. I am 5'5 and about 150 lbs. would you suggest medium or large? And what is your return policy if they do not fit or work well enough?
Anne -
@Anne Hi Anne, I would suggest the medium as we have a generous fit. Please check with The Grommet on return policy. Thanks
-
Hi Anne, you can see our entire return policy here.
-
Wish you had 3/4 length sleeves. I like that the tops and bottoms are sold separately. I can save up and buy them one at a time. I have purchased other moisture wicking sleepwear and it is expensive too (a little lower than yours but not by much) - mostly because the fabric itself is costly due to the cost of design, engineering, and production with top quality materials. I have been working on a new line of clothes for short, round women and have not been able to figure out how to make them affordably in the US. So thank you for the link to the blog. Anyway, good job, nice design!
-
@Yoko Thanks for the note and wishing you all the best.
-
My goodness..not only made in China, but who pays $164 for a pair of pajamas? Holy cow...
-
Hi Cindy, well as you'll see throughout the board here, not only is it incredibly difficult to manufacture any sort of luxury sleepwear affordably in the US, this is much more than a pair of pajamas. You'll be hard pressed to find something comparable in performance.
If Made in the USA shopping values are important to you, certainly browse our collection here and check out our recent blog post detailing how you can help in bringing back American manufacturing here. -
What is the inseam length for the Donna pant?
-
30", Diane! Thanks for the question!
-
Hi Lara,
I am many others with MS suffer terribly from the heat so much so they make cooling vests and other apparel for us. I am absolutely going to try your pj's. If they help I hope you can expand to tops etc. Thanks for giving us hot folks some hope>) -
@Laurie So sorry to hear what you are dealing with, it is horrible. We do have tops that help and will work with The Grommet to expand our selection over time. Very best to you.
-
I realise this was discussed earlier in today's on-line conversation but I too wanted to weigh in & encourage you to create Lusome for MEN! My husband has night sweats & a tee shirt with pj PANTS would be so excellent. Fall 2016? Wish it was possible that it could happen sooner. Congrats on your wonderful garment & wishing you great success.
-
Hi Deborah, thanks so much for the comment! With all of the demand for a men's line, I'm sure Lusome hopes to get it out as soon as possible, too. Stay tuned!
-
Good luck with this Lara, $160 for a pajama top/bottom?
-
Thanks, Ken! Though to be specific, these are moisture wicking pajama tops and bottoms. Not your run of the mill PJs.
-
I love this idea. To be dry at night would be such a delight.
My only concern is the price, unfortunately, for me to buy
a set is too expensive .
Linda -
Hi Linda, thanks for the kind words! Hopefully someone will be kind enough to get you some for the holidays!
-
Hi, Lara,
I'm hoping for a women's sleep T that is longer - like mid-calf length, maybe with short and long sleeve options.
Also, I 'm adding us to the list of folks looking for men's "shortie" pajamas.
Please keep us all posted.
Thanks! -
Hi Susan, thanks for the comment! I'm sure Lara will be keeping track of all of these suggestions for future development. Stay tuned!
-
Had the Chemo, had the night sweats...don't have $164.00 :(
-
I'm very sorry to hear that, Teresa. I hope someone in your life surprises you with these this holiday season!
