Custom Beach Sand Jewelry

A Piece of the Beach

Turn your favorite beach into a handcrafted, custom sand jewelry that’s made here in the USA.

Maker Holly Daniels Christensen wanted to capture the sunny memories of her childhood on the beaches of Cape Cod. She did this by turning sand into wearable gems. You can send her sand from your own chosen location or use the sand she
already has. Her collection includes samples from over 1,500 beaches from around the world.

Each accessory is hand sanded, encased, then embellished with fine silver for a modern, matte finish. It’s a personalized accessory you’ll treasure.

Whatever your favorite seaside location— even a golf course, ballpark, or hiking trail—now you can always carry it with you.

Live for the moment, then take it with you. That's my motto and the reason I designed dune jewelry. My jewelry will let you have a permanent reminder of the fleeting feeling you get when you are relaxing at your favorite vacation spot. I’d love to hear about the places and trips that are special to you, help you create a piece that captures your memories, and answer any questions you have about my jewelry.

What an amazing product idea! Love this and really want to order earrings made out of sand from Calhoun Hollow. I saw the sand on the list but can't determine how to request specific sand in the ordering process.

@Wendy: That's great! You need to checkmark that you are adding a gift message and add the beach information within the gift message field. No worries, if something goes amiss and your information doesn't come through with your order, someone from our customer service team will be in contact with you to make sure we get your order right.

Is it possible to order either of the bracelets in an 8 inch length instead of the 7.5 inch length?

    Hi Holly,

What a creative concept! Have you ever considered adding a ring design? I have a group of girls that travel together and we always buy the same ring to represent the trip. Just a thought... I will be pushing your designs for our next trip, though!

@Caroline: I have a couple of fun ring designs and more that I'm working on. I would be more than happy to create a ring just for your group of travel friends too! My website will have more photos and products added within the next 2-3 weeks that may pique your interest.

Hi Holly- Along the same idea as the ring, have you ever made a small charm for a charm bracelet....

@Rita: I am working diligently on designing different types of charms. The challenge is attaching it to the actual bracelet which can be done by your local jeweler or I can add a "clip"...(like a lobster clasp) to the charm so you can clip it yourself. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like me to send some photos.

I have a pair of earrings as well as a necklace from Holly and I have to say that I LOVE them! They are always a conversation starter, look beautiful for dress or play, and are a "take with me" momento of my trips to my favorite beaches. Thank you Holly and Dune Jewelry!

What a great idea for a wedding gift for someone special including the bridal party. I'm recommending this to all my clients who are having a beach wedding.

@Rev. Mary-Rose Engle: We agree, Mary-Rose, the dune jewelry is a great idea for a beach wedding gift! These pieces would be a nice suggestion for your clients who are heading to the beach for their honeymoon, as well. Thanks for keeping dune jewelry in mind.

@Rev. Mary-Rose Engle: Thank you so much Reverend! I just had a meeting with my first "beach bride" yesterday. She got engaged at the Hyannis Yacht Club and ordered necklaces made with sand from that beach for her bridesmaids. dune jewelry is such a unique way to commemorate the moment.

I am SO GLAD I saw this right before our beach trip! We will be bringing home a bag of sand from Cocoa Beach, where we watched the final shuttle launch--definitely something to remember!

I would *love* to see you offer charms so that I can add to a bracelet or necklace as I travel over the years. And I love "lobster claw" clasps for charms.

Do you original pieces come with an inscription or the like of what beach it is from?

What a beautiful idea--I know my daughter will want one as well! Congrats on being my new "favorite grommet" (you are in good company!)

@Headacheslayer: Thanks so much for posting! All of the jewelry comes with a card insert that tells you which beach sand/location the piece is made from. I would love to be able to inscribe every piece with the beach name (in the future) but for now I am not able to offer that. Although, I wonder if a local jeweler could do it! I will look into that and get back to you. Thanks for the great idea :)

Recently, I wrote Dune Designs in admiration of their aesthetic application of the unique emotions evoked by beaches and described my "beach history". My emotions are magnified, fragile and close to the emotional surface, resulting from recent, personal losses. I was touched beyond words by the personal response; filled with insights about what was written, yet more importantly, what I didn't write. Dune Designs "gets it" and understands how the beach experiences are, although shared with thousands of other people, individually experienced and cherished. Thank you for knowing how to meld emotions with artistry. To borrow from Anne Morrow Lindbergh - I look forward to receiving my "Gift from the Sea" . . .

I would like to purchase several pieces with sand from various beaches I have enjoyed and ad them to a bracelet I already have. Is it possible to just purchase teh pendants without bracelet or neck chain?
