Athletic Personal Pack

Ready, Set, Flip

Gone are the days of baggy sweat pants with bulky pockets. Active wear is sleeker and more stylish than ever before. The only problem is there’s nowhere to hold your phone, music and keys. That’s where FlipBelt comes in. Who would have thought a singular tubular waistband could solve one of the biggest nuisances that athletes face—where to tuck must-have items while exercising.

When runner and founder of Level Terrain Apparel, Mia Do, couldn’t find a comfortable, form-fitting solution for her phone and other personal items, she invented one. Every bit as flattering and contoured as the rest of today’s athletic wear, FlipBelt is designed to carry your on-the-go essentials without tying up your hands. Made of a moisture-wicking, antibacterial spandex-lycra blend, FlipBelt slides right on and sits snug on your hip. No bulk. No bounce. FlipBelt is machine washable and fast drying.

To keep items secure, all you have to do is flip the belt inward. Now, everything you need while exercising fits right around your waist. Have a great workout.

What a great idea! Too bad you only think thinner people exercise or have a need for something like this, though. :(

Hi Sarrah, Aaron from The Grommet here. We apologize if you feel the messaging came across that way, but this product is intended for people of all shapes and sizes.

The FlipBelt itself comes in a variety of sizes, including XL which fits Women's dress sizes 14-16 and Men's waist size from 36-41."

Everyone deserves workout gear that is supportive of their athletic activities!

Ha,Ha! Size 14-16 Women's dress size is what you consider XL??!! When you come to your senses, you will realize that this product caters only to a SLIM minority of women who might use it. Shame on the creator for not considering REAL women and their beautiful curves!

    Hi BA,

Sorry the size chart does not cover 14-16. We started out with the most popular size in the market XS-XL consistent with most activewear sizing. We do plan to offer more as the company grows. Thank you, Mia

    @Mia Do - Founder

I am new to this belt and can't say enough about it. I started running in Feb. and love all this belt does for me. I forget I have it on during my runs. Never moves around. As for the sizing, I wouldn't worry about that, you are producing a great product. Keep more coming, I sign up for races all the time now and everyone always asks where did you get something you are wearing. I would give them too as prizes at races to get the word across about it.

too bad it doesn't come in larger sizes like 1X, 2X. It is a band of fabric, it shouldn't be that hard to produce in other sizes. Not everyone fits into the sizes you have. Also, the video was not a true rep of all people. yes we don't want to see flab flopping around but slightly larger people would have been helpful to see if the belt would work for all sizes.

Are these belts reflective so cars can see me at night?

    Hi Alicia!

The logo on every FlipBelt is reflective, which is perfect for night or early morning runs if you want to be seen!

How wide is this? Will it fit a passport (3.5" x 5")? This might work well for a travel/security belt too.

    Hi Allison!

The belt has a 3 inch width. It will fit a passport, but it will be a snug fit and may bend your passport a little bit. We definitely have had people carry their passports though. And the belt is perfect for traveling! Especially when your trying to hide your cash and special items from pesky pick pocketers.

How you deal with sweating all over your cell phone or other gear you don't want wet?

  • Mia Do - Founder

    Hi HT!

The fabric is actually wicking fabric, so it is going to wick your sweat away. Sweat isn't a big deal unless you sweat A LOT. If you are the type of person who's clothes are drenched at the end of a workout, we recommend putting your electronics in a ziploc bag.

Hi Aaron - Hi Mia. So a woman's XL would be a size 14-16? I guess you're not aware that Marilyn Monroe wore a size 18. As for the most popular size in active wear being XS, that's probably because that's just about all that's available!

  • allison
    7/13/2013 4:26 PM

Measurements in the 50's are nowhere the same as measurements today. Today's size 8 was approximately a size 18 in the 50's. Marilyn Monroe was 35-22-35. In today's measurements, she would be a size 2 or 4 (and probably needing to have the waist taken in) so she would fit an XS. That said, if more people request larger sizing, I'm sure this company would listen and add to the product line as demand/interest increases.

This looks like a great idea.

As for all the folks complaining that it doesn't yet come in their size, please consider the costs involved in developing and marketing a new product. Unless you are already wealthy, you likely have to offer your product, initially, in sizes that reach the largest percentage of your target market. Once you raise enough money to make more sizes, you make more sizes. Give these folks a break.
