Joolz Hayworth

Cameo Bracelets

Wrist Candy

It all started with a set of antique glass buttons Jennifer Flatow found in a vintage shop. She started tinkering, trying to recreate the look for a jewelry piece. After lots of experimentation, Jennifer mastered the process and started making her signature stretch bracelets with colorful cameos, called Joolz.

The Joolz are made with graphic images set into either plated or enameled settings and covered with clear,
scratch-resistant acrylic. These bubbles add dimension and have a magnifying effect on the graphics underneath, creating a dynamic, watery look.

Jennifer has a knack for pairing vintage and modern images, creating collections that have style and an ample dose of humor. Each chunky bracelet makes its own bold statement, celebrating themes as varied as sea coral, peacock feathers, and tropical upholstery fabric from the 1940s. All the pieces are handmade in Los Angeles. Paired with jeans or a little black dress, they’re the perfect pop of personality that won’t go unnoticed.

Grommet Launch Conversation

  • Jennifer

Hello, my name is Jennifer Flatow and I am the founder and designer for Joolz Hayworth. Thank you for taking a look at our bracelets on Daily Grommet! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share our artisan-made-in-the-USA, fun, fashion jewelry with you through this interactive forum.

I design the kind of jewelry I love to wear--big, colorful and statement making.

I am always asked, "How did you come up with the idea for your jewelry?”

The inspiration for Joolz Hayworth image jewelry came from some antique buttons I found in a notions shop several years ago. The buttons featured images set under glass. The magnification effect of the glass over the image was mesmerizing and added a unique charm. I saw the tremendous potential to translate this to image jewelry. I brought the buttons home and immediately took them apart. I guess you could say I “reverse-engineered” them. Since then, I've perfected my jewelry-making technique that is now patent-pending.

Looks beautiful! I have a small wrist though and am concerned these may be a bit too big. Do you have a sense of what wrist measurements are best for your bracelets? thanks

@Michelle: Hi Michelle, thanks for your question. I've designed the bracelets so they will fit a variety of wrists. They seem to fit wrist sizes from 5.5" up to 7.5" very comfortably. Tip: you can measure your wrist by taking a piece of string or ribbon and wrapping it around your wrist and then measuring this against a ruler.

I love this bracelet! But the design I would like to order is not shown on the choices once I click on the endorsement. How do I order the magnificent bracelet on the front ad (paisley/african print with red jewels). I also have to have the Coral. These are absolutely beautiful. Congratulations Joolz!

@Camsgigi: You picked a great one. That style is called Batik and you may not have recognized it since it has a variety of different patterns in a similar color way for each of the joolz. They come together to make one exotic bracelet.

Love my joolz...have at least a dozen. The colors are brilliant and the subjects diverse, ranging from animal prints,Asian figures, deco design, tropical flowers all in popping colors. Each time I wear them someone wants to take them off my wrist. The quality is tops and they are COMFORTABLE. Keep up the good work

    Hi !

Luv these bracelets. so beautiful. definitely want to have one. I am petite. Will it still look good on me? I mean considering the size of the bracelets, I don't have huge hands, so was wondering how would they look on me.

Also which are more neutral bracelets, that can go with most of the outfits, other than black, of course. I liked the black and white lace bracelet. But other than that there are many colors and options available. Please advise.

@ kal: These bracelets are unique, aren't they? Thank you for your interest. Jennifer has designed the bracelets so they will fit a variety of wrists. They seem to fit wrist sizes from 5.5" up to 7.5" very comfortably. Tip: you can measure your wrist by taking a piece of string or ribbon and wrapping it around your wrist and then measuring this against a ruler.

A suggestion is to select bracelets that complement the colors you like to wear generally.

I love the braclets. have you thought of custom making them ? I see a number of designs I like and would like them in one braaclet. I need a 8 inch braclet. Would this be to uncomfortable?

Hi Marty, We are now working on a web application which will allow anyone to upload their own photos and artwork to create a custom Joolz. Once this is up and running, we will launch a gallery of art from our existing line-up of designs, so anyone can design a "mix-and-match" Joolz item with their favorite Joolz Hayworth designs.

I invite you to join our mailing list so we can send you an announcement when the site is ready: Or visit our facebook page:
