Intimate Art Kit

Creative Coupling

If you’re looking for a creative way to spice up date night, Jeremy Brown’s painting kit puts a sexy spin on couples’ art. For those adventurous partners who give it a try, Jeremy’s body-painting technique is a liberating, expressive, and beautiful way to create art together.

Jeremy, a South African-born artist, has been making
paintings while making love for more than a decade, inspired by French artist Yves Klein, who made art in the 1960's by directing human models covered in paint. After a friend asked Jeremy what she would need to make a painting with her husband on their anniversary, Jeremy came up with the idea for a kit. His Love Is Art package has all the materials needed to ensure a safe project, including a large plastic sheet to protect the floor; white cotton canvas; non-toxic paint; and even two pairs of disposable booties so you can walk to the shower to clean up without leaving a trail of footprints.

The movement of intertwined bodies distributes the paint across the canvas, creating a one-of-a-kind abstract image. After it dries, the painting is ready to be framed—a tangible reminder of a romantic experience. Are you ready to take a passionate plunge into paint?

I find art where others see emotion. Each sentiment is striking and powerful, but none so paramount as love. I am here to answer your questions.

This is incredible! What a lovely idea. In fact, I have some friends getting married Valentine's Day weekend. I am getting one for the as a wedding gift. How absolutely perfect. Thanks Daily Grommet for your usual awesomeness in finding hidden treasures!

Oh no. Dilemma! To get one for myself or not? Hmmm . . . what to do, what to do . . . This is an irresistible Grommet.

@Caron from Lunette: Hi Caron! What a great wedding gift idea. If you hear back from the couple, you will have to let us know their reaction. And if you're asking us, then "Yes" definitely get one for yourself, too!

Grossest Grommet Ever. This is so gross and tacky I really can't believe this is actually a Grommet. How in the world did you ever go from hand sewn nightgowns made by Haitian women needing work, to this ? Wow.

@Valerie: I don't think it is gross at all, but then, everyone is a critic.

@Katherine Klinger: So now the definition of foreplay includes laying a plastic sheet down on the floor as step one? In the time it takes for me to climax, the paint would dry.

@Valerie: I don't think it is gross in any way, shape or form! One of the coolest ideas I've ever seen. Kudos Daily Grommet for stepping out of your comfort zone and offering us something really unique and special.

I love it! What a unique way to create a romantic piece of art ! The sensuality in this is soft and very subtle. Not everyone will know what type of art it is .This is the joy of art.Every sees and experiences it in it's own way....the way it should be!!! Unique and one of a kind. Way to go!!!

I understand one color but anything OTHER than black and blue? I do not want black as color is lacking in our lives enough (I live in NYC need I say more??) and blue is the ONLY color that would never work in any room in my apt! Anything else available????????????????????

Sadly intrigued but not black or blue.......

@lisa: Right now these kits only come in black and blue, but maybe Jeremy will take your quandary into consideration and come out with more colors in the future.

What a great concept!!! Your site is wonderful for finding items that are so unique. I do agree about having only a black or blue color though. It would be great to see a duet of color choices too. The his and hers. . .ying to yang. . .peanut butter to jelly, you know, a duet of colors that couples can choose to compliment the decor in their room.

Additional colors are in the works, both different colored canvases, as well as a variety of paint colors to choose from. However, the only colors available at this current moment are black and klein blue. Cheers for the feedback - JB

What a cool, yet intimate and private (secret?) idea! I can't wait to see what other colors/canvas options will be released. Neither the blue or black will go with our current decor, so we are anxiously awaiting a chocolate brown, orange or red.

Does it come shipped in "discreet" packaging? When I buy online I generally ship stuff to my work (so I know someone can sign for packages) but I wouldn't want the contents to be known to my coworkers.

@Natalie: The packaging is "discreetly" designed for shipping. There's just a return label with "Love is Art" in small print. Hope this works for you.

What a sexy and completely inviting idea.. I am in a new relationship but it's going very well (; and I am definitely looking forward to surprising her with this in the future. Cyndi b., there are no "steps" in true intimacy.. Maybe the foreplay could be inviting your partner into a room with low lighting and music where your canvas was set up in advance???? Open your mind and paint your lover into intense and exhilarating love making. You may just discover you have a side you weren't aware of.. Free your mind and body.

I'm curious if anyone's used this yet... Has the paint washed off easily/completely? Does it stain your bath fixtures? Im concerned about looking like a smurf for several days! Love the idea of this special item though! Thanks!

@ Aspiring: Folks have shared that it's a "super easy set-up and clean up - just make sure you don't wait too long to shower...once the paint starts to dry, you have to scrub to get it off your skin - but it will still all come off. And yes, clean up right away & no staining. No "blue-sy" post-loving ;0)
