Jingle-Free

Having identification tags on your pet’s collar is always a good idea, but, boy, can they be noisy. SiliDog tags are durable, fade-proof, and best of all, silent. When Founder Michael Lickstein adopted a rescue, the poor pooch had fleas and just couldn’t stop scratching. The incessant tag jingling kept Michael up all night, so he came up with a noise-free solution—silicone pet tags. These adorable 3-D IDs are flexible, tough, and jingle-free. Even if your dog doesn’t scratch much, you’ve probably noticed how those metal tags clank against the water bowl and rattle during walks. That’s all in the past. Custom-engravable, SiliDog tags also have personality. The silicone shapes are fun and playful—which is appropriate for your furry best friend.

    Hi @Richard !

We are actually planning on something with the Rabies Tags and Federal Gov'ts very soon!

The short answer is that laws vary from county to county.

However, yes, we have done something similar. As long as the tag is correct and accurate, we can include the necessary information for it to be considered official.

    Thank you,

    Michael

    Hi @Judith!

Our silicone comes from my family friend, neighbor, and mentor's privately-owned factory in China. The silicone has been tested for 100% safety and quality. However, the tags are customized, engraved, packaged, and shipped from our facility in south Florida. Mainly, run out of my family's garage. (Thanks mom and dad!)

    Thank you,

This is also perfect for people with misophonia. The sound of my pup's tags drive me crazy -- they also hit off her food and water bowls while she's eating and the sound is like nails on a chalkboard. Now I can snuggle without having to take her collar off. :)

This is a pretty interesting idea. I am a little concerned that my dog or other dogs that play with my dog will easily chew this up in a matter of seconds or at the very least chew the information so it cannot be read. Seeing as these are flexible and made in China I also worry about what would happen if my dog swallowed it.

    Hi @Lester !

    Thank you for your feedback!

It is very difficult for the dog to get to it's own tag. The material is 100% safe. In the extreme circumstance that the tag is consumed, as told by our veterinarian and many other vets, the material can be safely passed! Though, it has not happened yet!

The silicone tags sound great. To those of you who like the idea, but either are nervousness about it getting chewed off, or think that not enough info can be printed on it, I have a suggestion. Get a nylon webbing collar made with the dog's name and your phone number embroidered on it. These are easily available. Then use the silicone tag to print your address and/or vaccination info on it. This way you have some redundancy built in, as well as space for more information. Our dogs always had such a collar (with a reflective strip on it as well), even long before silicone tags were available. The tag would be a nice complement to such a collar.
