Work well, stick to metal objects

10/20/2016 by Andria

These magnets do work well on the scarves. I'm glad to have them add so much adaptability to wearing my scarves. These magnets are quite strong.uite strong. I have to work hard to get the two pieces apart. Not for elderly hands.

The magnets also stick to other metal objects - metal frame on a chair at a meeting, toaster oven, hair clips and bobby pins. They also stick to each other if you place them within an inch distance. I lost one backing piece within the first two days when two magnets clumped together as I bent forward to lift an office chair and one backing piece must have stuck to the chair, while the ball stayed n the scarf, stuck to the other magnet.

Not practical for me.

12/17/2018 by Holly

These didn't look like pictured. I tried to wear them on my sleeves, but they kept grabbing on to things like my car, metal chairs, anything. Maybe if they were worn around the neck with a scarf, they wouldn't be in close proximity to things to attract them. I was going to give them as a gift, but didn't like their appearance, so I kept them for myself and I can't use them. I have a pacer and can't have magnets near it.More > < Less

Good idea, but does not work well

12/4/2018 by jolie osborne

Good idea, but does not hold more than very thin fabric. Did not hold together a shawl. Slipped apart with the slightest movement. Bought the three pack. Expensive purchase for something that hardly works.More > < Less

Safer than a safety pin, better than a button.

About Maggies

Textile Fastener

Maggies are ultra-strong clothing magnets that hold scarves, sarongs, jackets and more in place without damaging the fabric. (We like using them to hold curtains and tablecloths in place, too.)

Founder Maggie Sinclair came up with the idea after wearing a sarong. The only way she could keep it secured was to bunch it into a knot. A magnetic ball and a metal ring gave her the inspiration for a new kind of fastener.

Maggies clothing magnets are better than safety pins because they don’t puncture fabric—or skin! They’re removable, reusable, and versatile. Hide them inside your clothes or wear them showing. The combo version comes with decorative covers for the magnetic balls (which Maggie calls “Fashion Plates”), turning them into silver or gold button-like accessories.

Using Maggies takes a bit of practice because the magnet is so strong. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll be happy to leave those pins and knots behind.
