Grommet Launch Conversation

Hi Grommet Fans! I'm proud to introduce my handcrafted Spinner Rings to The Grommet. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have!
-
Just a quick heads up... Midcoast Maine (where I live) is right smack in the middle of a very large snow storm as I type. It is anticipated that there will be power outages - if that happens - I might be offline for a bit. Thanks!
-
Hi everybody, Maggi just lost power. Warren, ME is on the unlucky end of upwards of 5-6 ft of snow right now. Yikes. But she will be checking in as best she can and answering your questions as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!
-
Can you make me just one of the small spinner rings? I've tried to find a manufacturing jeweler for quite a while.
-
Hi Cathy, you can order a specific size by clicking 'buy' just below the video.
-
@Cathy Currently, the spinner rings are available as shown. If you are asking about purchasing a single spinner band, I can talk with the Grommet team about adding that product to the line up later down the line. Thanks!
-
What a lovely bit of jewelry and made from some truly underrepresented metals too.
I am curious though if you and Grommet will offer more precious metals on the spinning band? My wife and daughter have both asked about the bands being made of silver or gold.
Still, this is a lovely and unique bit of jewelry and I will be ordering one soon! -
@Jeff Thanks Jeff! I do offer a Sterling silver band with sterling silver spinners (you just choose it as your option). Regarding gold, to be honest, it is cost prohibitive to work in (i.e. super duper expensive for a small guy like me) and I don't carry it in stock. The current price of gold is $1,224 per oz while silver is $17.94 per ounce. My brass spinners have often been dubbed the poor man’s gold (ok, I dubbed it that - LOL) and when shined up, looks very similar to gold. Hope this helps.
-
Love the design and function. My daughter has been looking at fidget cubes, but I like this idea better. She is allergic to nickle. Is there any nickle in the process anywhere?
Thank you and keep up the beautiful work! -
@Kathy Hi there, thanks for the question! Short answer is my sterling silver has no nickel and neither does the brass. While I’m pretty certain the the copper I use doesn’t have nickel - this I cannot totally vouch for as copper is sometimes alloyed with nickel and I haven’t had that conversation with my supplier. I certainly will now though :) Best bet… silver with silver spinners (IMO).
-
Hi Maggi, Can you make a white gold version to be used as a wedding band? Need it by may 15th?
-
@Isabella thanks for the question. I am currently not working in white gold due to the expensive of nature of the raw material. I appreciate your request though and good luck!!
-
How do you recommend preventing the copper & brass from tarnishing & changing color over time?
Thank you. -
@Lynn unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do. Some folks paint over the metal with clear nail polish to stave off the tarnish. I recommend Wright's silver polish and a soft cloth to do periodic cleaning. It is inexpensive and you can find it in the cleaning isle of the grocery store. Hope that helps!
-
Will you being adding sizes? I need a size 13.
-
Hi Scott, size 13 is now available!
