Hello everyone! I'm proud to introduce Chicago Comb to The Grommet. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have!
-
I have currently have two aluminum combs. The primary home comb, made in Sweden, is a standard barber's style with two types of tines - Standard and Fine. I use only the fine end for my daily hair combing. The second comb (Swedish "Countess" comb no longer available) is a cheaper manufactured, who knowns where, and has a tendency to bend out of shape easily.
Several questions - -
I currently have two aluminum combs. My primary barber's style (two types of tines) comb was made in Sweden (no longer available), while the second comb was made who known where - is pure junk (thin - bends). I use the Swedish "Countess" combs solely at home, having lost too many traveling.
Several questions -
1. Can your model No.1 be manufactured with the thin tines?
2. Can model No.2 be used a a standard travel/pocket comb.
3. Can model No.2 be purchased in longer lengths? (I like the style)
3. Thickness of your combs - Do they have a tendency to easily bend?
4. Are the tines hand polished to a smooth finish to prevent and pulling? -
@Alexander Thanks for reaching out! Thank you for the product recommendations! Right now the model no. 1 comes with medium width tines and the model no. 2 only comes in a shorter, compact size. We will definitely keep these in mind for future consideration.
The model no. 2 fine tooth comb makes a great travel/pocket comb, especially with the sheath. Since you mentioned only using the fine teeth of your current swedish comb, the model no. 2 would be a versatile hair and beard comb for you.
The comb is made of high quality stainless steel and is very durable, stronger vs. aluminum. With the fine teeth model no. 2 we would recommend keeping the comb in leather sheath if you keep it in a bag, etc...
In regards to the finish, we machine and hand finish all of our combs in our Chicago workshop ensuring a smooth finish, no snagging or pulling, The classic comb comes in a matte finish with the teeth rounded and you will see the teeth are shiny, mirror at the base ensuring a smooth comfortable experience.
On a side note, my grandfather was from Sweden and we're big fans of modern, Scandinavian design! -
Appears my questions did not go through -
1. Can model No.1 be manufactured with fine-tooth tines.
2. Model No.2 appears to be a mustache/beard comb - Can it be used as a standard travel/pocket type. Concerned about bending.
3. Are any other lengths available i either model, especially No.1.
Warranty - Guarantee ? -
@Alexander Hi Alexander-see my response above. In regards to guarantee, while custom-engraved combs cannot be returned, if there is an issue with a custom-engraved comb, please let us know and we'll do our best to help. We will do everything possible to make sure you love your comb and your overall experience!
