Golden Smile

Nano-b antibacterial toothbrushes cut down on bacteria—both in your mouth and on the brush—and brighten your smile with the help of some unlikely elements. The bristles are infused with nano-particles of gold or silver, which release negatively charged ions to penetrate bacterial cells and kill them on the spot. For extra whitening power, the gold-infused bristles also contain particles of bamboo charcoal. It’s a natural purifier that removes acidic plaque and stains, like from coffee and wine. You may already trust charcoal to filter out impurities in your water, and it works the same way in these bristles. The highly porous surface easily absorbs—and essentially suffocates—odors and toxins without leaving any residue or taste behind. Founder George Tonchev created Nano-b when he couldn’t find the right toothbrush to suit his mom’s sensitive gums. The shorter bristles have staggered heights that reach more easily between teeth, while rounded tips make them extra gentle. We’re sure George’s mom agrees that his unique toothbrushes really are golden.

    Why should someone choose Nano-B over other toothbrushes?

  • Petar

    It’s really a combination of several important factors. First of all, Nano-b solves some really important oral health concerns all at the same time. Bacteria infested toothbrushes is a recognized problem which can have extremely negative long-term consequences for people who brush with dirty toothbrushes for years and years.

    Second, the Nano-b bristles are safe and health promoting. Our bristles have soft, round-edged tips, which are very sensitive to the gums and enamel and do not harm the soft tissue of the mouth, as some other toothbrushes.

    Of course, in addition to solving these health problems, we wanted Nano-b to excel at the main job of a toothbrush – clean plaque effectively. The unique two-layered bristles design in effect combines brushing and flossing in one. So, the Nano-b toothbrush cleans plaque effectively even in hard to reach places such as between teeth. We have also worked very hard on the design of the toothbrush, to make sure it’s handy, comfortable, with small head so its easy to maneuver and of course, beautiful, so it’s pleasing to the eye and make brushing your teeth more enjoyable.

    We also created our unique packaging tube, so every Nano-b toothbrush comes in its own travel case, as we know how important is to be able to take your toothbrush with you on the road when necessary.

    As our products were created to solve health problems, not cause them, it was really important for us to make sure the Nano-b toothbrushes are 100% safe for use. Our products are FDA approved and all the healthy tests we’ve run have shown the brushes are completely safe for every day use.

    I almost feel uncomfortable answering this question, because it will sound like bragging, but the truth is ever since we introduced Nano-b to customers, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Many people have reported vast improvements in their overall dental health such as improved gum health, stopped gum bleeding, cleaner teeth overall and so on. We are very proud and humbled by all the positive feedback and this has kept us motivated to work even harder on our quest to improve people’s oral health.

    @claudia Hi Claudia, yes, the lifespan of the brushes is similar to regular brushes, especially if you'd like to enjoy the squeaky-clean feeling that Nano-b is famous for. However, as our bristles are antibacterial and more durable than those of the regular toothbrush, it's even possible to use them for a month or two longer as the bristles won't fray as much and the brush will stay clean and safe.

    The head is very compact! It's 1in long and very comfortable and maneuverable. We've designed it smaller, so it could clean easily hard to reach places like the back of your mouth.

I think your idea is fantastic but really hope that you'll switch to bamboo or wood handles.

  • Petar

    4/14/2016 11:23 AM

    @Patricia Hi, Patricia!

    This is a great question indeed!

    When we started developing the Nano-b toothbrush our main concern was to improve people's oral health. The main problems we wanted to solve were the bacteria-infested toothbrushes and the harsh, dangerous bristles of most toothbrushes.

    We are proud we managed to accomplish this. Unfortunately, to be able to solve these health issues, we had to use expensive materials (like silver, gold and charcoal) and complicated manufacturing process for the bristles.

    This, of course, increased the price of the toothbrush so, in order to keep the overall price of the toothbrush as low as possible and in this way make it accessible to more people, we had to try to minimize the cost in other areas. Which meant for the time being we have to use a plastic handle.

    Of course, we are currently researching and testing other options as well. Making a bamboo handle is definitely one of the main options we're trying to test and we'll keep you updated on any related news.

    Hi Emily, the base material for the bristles is PBT, which is a more durable and effective material than the nylon used for most standard toothbrushes. As a result, the Nano-b bristles don't fray as much and are able to clean plaque more efficiently for a longer time.

    If charcoal absorbs toxins, wouldn't it be bad to brush our teeth with these toxin filled particles after using this brush for awhile? If the gold and silver particles make the bristles antibacterial as you say, that sounds great. The shape of the bristles sounds very interesting too. I'd like to try your product. I'll probably buy the silver but am curious about the charcoal.

    @Denise Hi, Denise!

    This is really a fantastic question!

    I'll need to research this in more details in order to give you precise details on how the process works. What I can tell for sure is once the toxins are absorbed by charcoal particles, they stay bound to the charcoal and cannot escape and get back to your body. This is why charcoal is sometimes used to treat cases of food poisoning.

    @Jennifer Hi Jennifer, thank you for your awesome feedback. The Nano-b toothbrush has been designed to improve your gums health, by decreasing the amount of micro-cuts and scratches you may cause while you are brushing. In addition the double-layer bristle structure gets deeper along the gum line cleaning plaque in those hard to reach areas.

    The reason the Nano-b bristles are holding longer is because we have replaced the usual bristle material (nylon - 98% of toothbrushes on the market are using them) with a two times more durable material called PBT. As a result, the Nano-b bristles can keep their elasticity up to 6 months.

    @Derrick Hi Derrick, Just to clarify, we have certificates for the antibacterial properties of the bristles. What we haven't yet run independent studies for is the effect of the bristles on gum issues such as bleeding and receding gums. We plan to run such tests this year as we've been having numerous customers reporting vast improvements of their gum problems. Hence, we'll run our own test, to try to get scientific proof of the beneficial effect brushing with Nano-b has for different oral health issues such as gum health, teeth whitening and better plaque removal.

    @Judy Hi Judy, at the moment the Nano-b toothbrush is sold only as a manual toothbrush. We are not very keen on battery-powered toothbrushes. For us they are dangerous in the long run for our oral health.

    Hello,

    I have been purchasing the Mouthwashers offered here in Grommet over the past year, and they seem to offer very similar options in terms of long bristles to clean in between teeth and silver particles for antibacterial purposes. Considering that Mouthwasher's product is priced at half the cost (pack of 3 for $14.95 versus 1 for $11.95), can you elaborate on the advantages of NanoB that warrant the increased cost?

    Here's the answer straight from Petar:

    Hi Christian, Thank you for your question! We cannot comment on other brands and products as we don't have any details or data about their products and manufacturing process.

    As for Nano-b, we wanted it to be a product that solves all of the important oral health issues at once, hence, we had to use the best possible raw materials and manufacturing technology available, which of course, made the toothbrush more expensive than the standard manual toothbrush.

    We truly believe Nano-b is a premium product combining high-quality manufacturing with beautiful and comfortable design. We also have added benefits such as the travel case that is included with each toothbrush. Thus, we believe Nano-b is offered at a price that fully corresponds to its high quality and our customers have always commented positively on the high quality and fair price of the product.

Nevertheless, we are constantly researching ways to improve our products and will keep you updated on any product developments.

    How often do you recommend changing to a new toothbrush? In other words, how long does each one remain effective before you should trade it in for a new one?

    @Lynn Hi, Lynn!

    If you enjoy the squeaky-clean feeling that Nano-b is famous for, we recommend changing your toothbrush every 3-4 months. However, as our bristles are antibacterial and more durable than those of the regular toothbrush, it's even possible to use them for a month or two longer as the bristles won't fray as much and the brush will stay clean and safe.

    Hello there! First, I'd like to thank you for creating this type of toothbrush. I have sensitive teeth and I'm always replacing my toothbrush to avoid bacteria. My question to you is this.....out of the two brushes, which is best for sensitive teeth?

    @Rebecca Hi, Rebecca!

    Thanks so much for the kind words :)

    Many of our customers suffering from sensitive teeth and gums have reported vast improvements after a few weeks brushing with Nano-b. We recommend starting with the Silver toothbrush as people with such conditions report better results with it.

    How long do these brushes last... that is, how long will it be before I have to buy a new one? Specifically, assuming I brush my teeth once a day, every day, when will the infusions be consumed?

    @Shelley Hi, Shelley! To enjoy the full benefits of the toothbrush and the squeeky-clean feeling every time, it's recommended to replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. The antibacterial impregnation of the bristles last throughout the lifespan of the product.

    I have been using the silver infused toothbrushes for a year, and while I've improved my flossing habits, my dentist commented on how my gums have greatly improved over this last year, asking what I was doing. I mentioned these brushes and she said along with the flossing, this is doing incredible work on my gums, and amount of plaque build up! Really awesome toothbrushes, that I also feel like have better bristles that really get inbetween. Cant wait to try the gold ones.

    @Jennifer Mine has lasted a good 6 months, partially because I'm cheap(er), but more so because the bristles really hold up well.

    @Petar Do have any scientific proof or studies that support your claims regarding your toothbrush?

    I love having an electric toothbrush. Can your product be converted so it is charged by a battery contains base?

    Really cool product. Currently I use and OralB electric toothbrush. Do you think you will provide the bristle technology in a OralB head replacement?

    Here's Petar's response:

    Hi Jason, at the moment the Nano-b toothbrush is sold only as a manual version. We are not very keen on battery-powered toothbrushes as there are some health concerns associated with their long-term usage. Nevertheless, we are constantly researching ways to improve our products and will keep you updated on any product developments.
