Use & Reuse

Having too much stuff can weigh us down—literally and figuratively. Nomadix is a high-performance towel that combines many uses into one. If you’re hiking or traveling, Nomadix is your pack towel, folding down to about 3 x 7 inches. Its absorbent, fast-drying fabric is ready to dry you off during your hike, after a workout, or at the pool or beach. Put Nomadix over your yoga mat, or even on the grass, and practice a few asanas. Durable and well-constructed, this generously sized travel towel is slip resistant and anti-microbial, too. Founder Chace Petersen was camping his way across the Rockies, tired of all his gear weighing him down. An all-purpose towel was one way to cut the amount of stuff carried, so he got to work creating one. A lover of the environment, Chace was determined to make Nomadix from 100% recycled materials. Two years later—after testing different blends to find the perfect texture and finish—Nomadix was ready. Walk on it, sweat on it, leave it in the sun, and dry yourself off with it. This “everything towel” is one way to own less, and still do everything you want to do.

Hi there, I don't think I caught what recycled materials the towel is made of? Apologies if I missed it, can you let us know?

Hi @Cathy, The towel is made in China. We chose china for a variety of reason. The response is a little long winded but the short answer would be the ability to compete in the U.S. markets and better manufacturing capabilities. If you'd like to know more, shoot us an email at [email protected] and I'm happy to send you a more detailed response.

Hi @Sherry, nano wires of silver are woven into the threads when the textile is being made. This silver discourages the growth and development of microbes.

It is brilliant to make usable items out of recycled materials. Hopefully more people will come to understand that, like organic foods, you do have to pay a bit more. So thank you.

I could use a few of these but may take a while to get my head around this price point, fair as it may be. Something like $39/each would probably fly off the shelves of, say, Costco.

I hope it takes off. thanks.

Just wondering...as with some (but not all) yoga mats there is an obnoxious (noxious?) 0dor when first unpacking the product and there has to be a airing out or washing and drying ritual to get this smell out. Does the Nomadix have that issue or did you figure a way to get rid of this?

  • Mike
    Mike – Grommet Team

Hi Alfred, that scent can largely be attributed to the material of yoga mats, which Nomadix does not use so, worry not, there is no unpleasant smell!
