My son loved this! We are planning to purchase more.

easy to assemble!

I purchased the Synth and DoodlrBot kits and loved them! The instructions were very easy to understand with good photos. Since I am new to soldering, I contacted customer support to ask a couple of questions before starting and they answered promptly and were very courteous. They even sent me a link to a how-to solder video they are making that was very helpful. Putting the kits together was easy and I love the end results. I can solder now!!!More > < Less

So much fun!

I purchased the Doodlr Bot for my nephews when I saw a demo of it, although I almost kept it for myself. The packaging is nice and compact as it was headed for California in my sister-in-law's suitcase. I am so excited for them to try this. They are going to be so surprised to create this fun project.More > < Less

Packaging disappointment!!

Well, I haven't given it to my 13 year old nephew yet, as it is a Christmas gift. I was disappointed when it came. It was just a few small parts in a small ziploc baggie. Hard to make it look like a nice gift, or interesting at all with that kind of presentation. Even a nice colored picture on the front would have helped, so he would know what was inside.More > < Less

About Open Wire Lab

Creative Spark

Learn about technology in a way that fuses fun and creativity. That’s the philosophy behind the DIY electronic building kits from Open Wire Lab (aka OWL).

Each kit teaches basic electronics in an approachable way, then sparks individual ideas about how the technology can be used. OWL asks kids to use their imagination to integrate their self-built electronics into other projects, whether an art piece, costume, or anything else they can dream up.

OWL founder Balam Soto came to the U.S. from Guatemala, where he was already an award winning artist. He started learning about technology and was fascinated. Soon, his art featured scientific components.

All OWL kits are designed to blend technology and creativity, inspired by Soto’s own work. Building a functional piece of electronics is just the beginning. After that, there’s no limit to the ingenuity.
