Fastening System

Totally Tied Down

It’s hard to decide what’s the worst part of using conventional rope to tie down stuff. The tangled lines are a pain, but even more troublesome is crafting the proper knot. You never know for sure if a knot is going to hold -- until you can’t untie it. Bungee cords are equally frustrating and more dangerous for their tendency to detach and snap back at your face.

Jeff Dahl wanted something better, so he started tinkering with ropes, cords and knots until he worked the kinks out of his idea and created a new kind of
multipurpose fastener: the LoopRope. Each length of rope has built-in loops. When you’re tying something down, you can choose the loop that creates the right amount of tension and connect it with a steel S-clip to your point of contact. There are no knots to tie, and you can use the remaining loops to tie off additional items or to create extra fastening points for added strength. Combine multiple LoopRopes together and you can create a cargo net, too. For boaters, the similarly engineered BuoyRope makes it easy to tie a boat to the dock and drop a bumper with just the right amount of slack.

The adjustability and versatility of LoopRope make it easy to use in all kinds of settings -- camping, packing the car, boating, home improvement and more. You won’t miss the old ways of tying down your stuff.

Throw away your dangerous and limiting bungee cords and get yourself some LoopRope. Thank you to the Daily Grommet for featuring a product that will make your life easier. Everyone knows bungee cords are either too long or too short and when they're too short, well you know what could happen. LoopRope absolutely eliminates the everyday use of bungee cords, overkill cargo nets, most other light to medium duty tie downs including rope in some circumstances. Endorsed by and used by a local opthamologist you will love your LoopRope. After using once you will never use anything else......I guarantee it!

By the way if you own a sport boat or personal water craft like a jet ski or a wave runner, the BuoyRope is awesome for quickly tying down your craft. There is no other quick docking line on the market that sets the fender at the perfect height AND secures your boat at the same time. It is so easy to use your kids can help dock the boat. When you're not using it as a docking line then use it to secure inflatables, coolers, fishing poles or use it as a clothesline on the tower or on the shore. BuoyRope, every boat needs some!

@Kate: Hi Kate. Thank you very much. Hard to imagine the idea came to me just over 2 years ago. It really is extremely useful. If you didn't use it for anything else but a clothesline you will not be disappointed. Thank you, jeff

Jeff forwarded some more pictures of how the LoopRope is being used. Here it is being used as both a tie-down for a dog kennel and as a leash. This is one of those great finds that once you own it you find many ways to use it!

How many of the S-clips come with the three-pack of 5-ft loop ropes? I'm debating getting those for presents, but need to know if I'll need to purchase extra S-clips. Thanks!

@Jessica: Each LoopRope comes with 2 S-clips, so there would be six total in the three pack.
