When Barbara Gordon saw the sterling silver little angel necklace that her sister, Bridget Cella (that’s her with Barbara on the right), found in a heavenly shop in North Carolina, she began — er, praying for one. So Bridget got one for Barbara, and they both proudly wore their angels. “I began to think of it as a guardian angel that connected us,” Barbara says.
Barbara decided to pass the gift along by sharing the angel with Daily Grommet. (We love you, Barbara!) Of course, not just any necklace would inspire this kind of devotion. Created by Sue and Victor Roggio, silversmiths with nearly four decades of experience, the little angel hangs on a contemporary 18” beaded chain — and packs a lot of personality into a small package. The little angel has bare toes, pointy wings and her head is tilted to one side as if she’s pondering the universe. She’d made a sweet gift for a new baby, drop a first communicant to her knees, and might even make mom forget the day you broke her favorite vase.
Of course, if you have a deserving sister, you know she wants one.
