Maker Story

Help for Wet, Smelly Gear

Nothing puts a damper on a morning run like a pair of shoes still moist from the day before. Likewise, no one wants to hit the ice or jump on a bike in helmets and gloves that hold sweaty traces of earlier workouts.

At our house, wet gear used to spend a lot of time propped in front of heating vents. Not anymore. We’ve found an easier (and much less unsightly) way to remove moisture and keep shoes, gloves and helmets smelling fresh. It’s called Stuffitts. Just slip these lightweight, flexible inserts into your shoes, gloves, and helmets, and they’ll go to work combating moisture and killing odor-causing bacteria. The next day, your gear will be dry, fresh, and ready for action.

The founder of Stuffitts is Mike Huebner, who was determined to find a better way to dry his running shoes and make them last longer. His patent-pending products combine moisture-wicking fabric covers with cedar fill. So go ahead, jump in that puddle, play baseball in the rain, or take one more run down the sledding hill. Just make sure you have your Stuffitts handy.
