That’s the idea behind the UNII palette, a new solution for storing makeup that’s clever, practical and environmentally friendly. An innovative feature is its magnetized palette, which grips tiny makeup containers, or pots.
You can fill the UNII palette with makeup sold in refill sizes, which is not only a cost-saver but also more environmentally friendly since it eliminates the need for wasteful packaging. More and more cosmetics companies are selling their makeup in this way. You can also transfer any metal makeup pot from its original case to the UNII palette through a process called de-potting (you use a hair dryer to loosen the glue seal, then pop your favorite eye shadow out of the old container).
The inventor of the UNII palette is Minna Ha, who grew tired of having to travel with a caravan of compacts. She had seen other makeup palettes, but they didn’t accommodate her taste for variety since most were tailored to carry only a single brand of cosmetics.
Kathy Kramer, the inventor of the bulk-free Invisibelt we featured last month, introduced us to Minna and UNII Cosmetics. We’re excited to help spread the word about this new product. It’s great for teens, frequent travelers and anyone who wants to simplify their cosmetics.
