Molly Mutt / Molly Meow

Maker - Molly Mundt

Maker Story

New Tricks for an Old Dog Bed

You can slipcover your couch and throw a tablecloth over a worn table, so why not give your pet beds a makeover?

Molly Mundt came up with the idea for pet duvets after a grueling trip to the laundry with three dirty dog beds. She thought if she could change her own duvet cover to suit the season or a new color scheme, why couldn’t she do the same for her three dogs’ beds? It certainly would make laundry easier.

She designed these Molly Mutt dog and cat duvets to look as good as something she’d put on her own bed. You can use one of the washable zip-on duvets to recover your old dog or cat bed. Or, you can create a new pet bed by filling one of the covers with soft items from around the house, such as worn t-shirts, blankets and stuffed animals. It’s a clever way to upcycle, since you’re giving old items new purpose and keeping textiles out of the waste cycle.

We heard about Molly Mutt from Julia Elmer, a pet lover who’s committed to animal welfare and spends a lot of time transporting dogs from dangerous shelters to rescue centers where they’ll be protected. (Julia’s also a great Grommet spotter. She introduced us first to Night Owl Paper Goods, then to Chivas Skin Care.)

For the lucky pets that get to chill out on a Molly Mutt duvet, nap time never looked better.
