The Aquapod soda bottle rocket launcher takes fun to new heights. All you need is a bicycle pump, water and a two-liter soda bottle. Fill the bottle halfway with water, secure it over the Aquapod launch tube, and pressurize the container using your bike pump. Then stand back, give a tug on the release string, and watch it head for the skies, up to 100 feet in the air. Aquapod has a built-in safety valve that releases pressure at 50psi so you can't over-pressurize the system. Even so, the Aquapod is not intended for use by small children and adult supervision is recommended.
Charles Wollman invented the Aquapod after several years of prototypes—many of which looked more like plumbing apparatus than launch pads. Charles partnered with Mark Micieli, who has a background in aviation, and together they launched their business, called Great American Projects, in 2009. Not long after, the Aquapod made its first appearance on The Grommet. We’re thrilled to be re-launching the fun all over again. Start your countdown to liftoff.
