King of the Hill

In my hometown there was one long steep hill at the local country club that every kid both dreamed about and feared each winter. As soon as the snow fell, we’d all grab our sleds and head for the monster known as the Heart Attack Hill.

Finding the right sled was always a challenge—plastic cheapies were lightweight but usually shredded after a handful of runs (and most likely a couple of crashes), and the sturdier kind with runners were great for steering but a bear to haul back up the hill. The lightweight but rugged Zipfy Mini Luge offers the best of both worlds.

The unique lever on the Zipfy makes it super maneuverable and stable, which would have come in handy when I was a kid (did I mention there was a pond at the bottom of the Heart Attack Hill?) And, at just 3.7 pounds, it’s easy to throw this sled over your shoulder for a quick run back to the top of the hill.

It isn’t just for kids either—with a weight capacity of 250 pounds the Zipfy can easily carry the intrepid adult who’s ready to live out his or her Olympic Luge dreams. The Zipfy comes in pink, blue, or green, and its super sleek design guarantees that your kid (or you) will be the coolest sledder on the slope.
