Mrs. Meyer's

From Total Slob to Stepford Wife

I cleaned my whole house a few hours ago. This was kind of a breakthrough moment. I actually HATE cleaning, and almost never do it proactively (usually it’s because company is coming, or because my mess is driving my neatnik husband insane). But this time was different. This time I used cleansers from Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day line.

All of the cleansers have this amazing aromatherapy fragrance (in this case, Basil), so I happily scrubbed the floor, cleaned the fronts of my kitchen cabinets, and wiped down all the surfaces of our rented water cooler, too. (WHO DOES THAT? Okay, maybe you do, but I’d never even considered it before.)

The products are also biodegradable and contain only naturally occurring cleaning agents and essential oils. The Surface Scrub is not quite as strong as what I sometimes clean my tub with, so I needed a little extra elbow grease there, but I hardly noticed since I didn’t have to hold my breath the way I normally do with the noxious stuff. They also make a concentrated All Purpose Cleanser that you can mix with water, so one bottle will last a long time (which is great if you get hooked, like me).

Before I sat down to write this, I actually sniffed a cabinet. It smelled good! It smelled like the houses of women who have spotless houses! Wait a second… Could I be turning into one of them? Why do I suddenly feel compelled to tie on a ruffled apron? And what is that tiny spot on the floor? (Reaching for sponge…)
