Maker Story

Accessory Assistance

Some women are born to accessorize. They always grab the right earrings, the right handbag, the right hat. I don’t even know where my jewelry is these days, I don’t own a belt (seriously), and I tend to wear whatever shoes are closest to the front door.

A couple of years ago, though, I learned a neat trick when I traveled to Madrid. The Madrileñas all seemed to rely on one accessory to tie their (very polished) look together, a scarf! I bought one there, looked fabulous for a week, but returned home, tucked it in a drawer, and promptly forgot about it.

Well, when the folks at Daily Grommet shared these Brooke Stanton scarves, I remembered. They’re hand-died silk, and come in a rainbow of colors. So in theory they could become your signature accessory to accompany any look. Which is the perfect remedy for those of us born without the accessorizing gene.

Of course, if you ARE a born accessorizer, you probably aren’t even reading this. You’ve already got one in your shopping cart, and you can’t wait to get it because you’ve got just the right thing to wear it with.

Where do you fall on the accessorizing aptitude scale? Do you have a signature look?
