Elaine left a successful medical career to become a chocolatier. She trained at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Massachusetts and the Ecole Chocolat in Vancouver, British Columbia. Then she teamed with Catharine Sweeney, and the two friends launched their own artisanal chocolate and confection company in Somerville, Mass.
Freshness rules at EHChocolatier, where Elaine and Catharine make all the confections from scratch, in small batches, using natural ingredients (no artificial flavors or preservatives). They follow classic techniques and craft each chocolate by hand. From their choice of ingredients and cooking methods to the painstaking decorating and elegant packaging of each piece, no detail is overlooked.
