If you’ve never given much thought to men’s socks, Adam Schoenberg and Cory Rosenberg will open your eyes to a whole new world of color, pattern and style.
Adam and Cory, who went to college together, reconnected at a wedding in Sweden and discovered a shared appreciation for dress socks that make a statement. Both expressed disappointment at the lack of quality menswear accessories, and the seeds of their dapper venture, hook + ALBERT, were planted.
Hook + ALBERT socks embody the founders’ ideal trifecta for superior socks: fit, function and fashion. To ensure a comfortable fit, their socks are made with Peruvian pima cotton, selected for its breathability. A double-layered calf band helps the socks stay put, and another band runs around the foot arch to improve circulation and provide arch support.
On the fashion front, Adam and Cory aren’t afraid to take risks. Their fancy footwear features polka dots, stripes and camouflage rendered in bold, unconventional colors. To complete the look, hook + ALBERT offers coordinating lapel flowers and waxed cotton shoelaces.
The hook + ALBERT name was inspired a classic men’s accessory, the pocket watch. Traditionally, a pocket watch was tethered to a man’s waistcoat by a chain, which was known as an “albert,” and a hook. Taking their cue from days gone by, Adam and Cory are aiming to fill a void in the men's accessory market. They’re sticking to the classic elements, but their interpretation is thoroughly modern. Bye-bye, bland. Hello, hip.
