Iron & Glory

Maker - Richard Brandt

Maker Story

Everyday Carry

Brooklyn-based Iron & Glory are advocates of the everyday carry movement. That means having useful tools on hand that won’t weigh you down. In that spirit they craft slim but strong goods with an industrial feel.

Founder Richard Brandt pulls design inspiration from American motor culture of the 60’s and 70’s. Durable materials—like stainless steel and aluminum alloy— are sourced from all over the world. Then Iron & Glory crafts them into ultra-useful tools in their Brooklyn studio.

The mini collapsible pliers are a great example of their clever—but purposeful—design. Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, a steel file, a knife, and wire cutters are all deftly tucked away in one small, oval-shaped multi-tool that’s about the size of a silver dollar.

The slightly larger, but still compact, carabiner multi-tool has a locking clip. It stays secure wherever you want, or you can easily add it to your keychain. An LED flashlight, knife, and serrated saw complete the package.

Iron & Glory’s pieces look sharp, are smartly designed, and will make you want to embrace everyday carry, too.
