Win Ouboter was 30 years old, living in Zurich, and wanted to make the daily trip to his favorite sausage shop more fun. He started tinkering with some old skate wheels and created a makeshift scooter. Fifteen years later, the former banker’s legacy is Micro Mobility, a Swiss maker of precisely crafted scooters for kids and adults.

Win’s kick scooters are recognized for their oversized wheels and renowned for their exceptionally smooth glide. They’re truly fun to ride. Nowhere is the quality of Micro’s engineering more obvious than in the airport. Yes, really, the airport. The latest invention from the pioneering scooter maker is Micro Luggage, a ride-on suitcase with a built-in scooter. You can scoot through terminals easily and smoothly, then when you get to your gate, the handlebar retracts and the suitcase fits into a standard overhead bin. Too often a trip to the airport is hectic and stressful. Micro Luggage adds an element of fun... and speed.

Win’s creations are available in the U.S. from the husband and wife team of Geoff and Julie Hawksworth, who discovered Micro’s scooters when they were living in London. Now in Michigan, they’re spreading the word about the fun of scootering, one kick at a time.
