Soccer Meets Golf

Soccergolf Maker Michael Ochoa introduced his kids to the sport footgolf, where players essentially play golf by kicking a ball, on a nearby course. A rare rainy day in southern California inspired him to make a kid-scaled, kid-friendly way for them to play inside, too.

Michael DIY-ed a few prototypes and used a 3D printer before landing on the perfect hole design. The game set gets the kicking-fun going, and the squishy balls used (also known as pelotas) are soft enough to not wreck the living room and can soar up to 60 to 80 feet outside. As many as eight players can play by the rules—lowest score wins—or you and the kids can play any way you like. The set packs up in a carrying case, so it’s easy to take the game along to the beach and beyond.
