Who’s wearing these, you might wonder? Jules spotted animal hoods being worn all over the streets of New York. She posted photos on Facebook and immediately struck a chord with the Daily Grommet community. More than 100 comments later, we started digging into the trend and found SpiritHoods.
From the start, SpiritHoods’ craftsmanship stood out to us. Each hood is handmade with gorgeous faux fur and it’s clear a lot of attention goes into the details -- like hand-warming padded paws, a button closure and a zippered compartment for keys or an ID. We’re also taken by the spirit of the four founders, Marley Marotta, Chase Hamilton, Ashley Haber, and Alex Mendeluk (left-right above). The foursome created SpiritHoods to get in touch with their inner animals and to identify with their “tribe.” Their camaraderie, creativity and energy make you want to don a hood and get in on the fun. In the words of Marley Marotta, “What’s beautiful about [SpiritHoods] is that every single wearer interprets it and rocks it their own way.” We couldn’t have said it better.
