Maker Story

Hang Out

Gain a new perspective of the great outdoors. The hammocks from Tentsile suspend in the air, taking your campsite or lounge session to relaxing new heights.

A unique three-point tension system anchors the designs to trees—without causing any harm. Super strong webbing straps keep the foundation sturdy, while rip-resistant insect mesh panels and a waterproof, UV-resistant fabric fly add protection from the elements. Relaxed and supportive at the same time, these hammocks look striking among the trees and are comfortable to sleep and lounge on, too.

Architect Alex Shirley-Smith was interested in creating usable space. Inspired by a childhood memory of the treehouse Ewok village in Star Wars (remember that?), Alex decided to experiment with lifting things up. His beautiful creations are an innovative twist on getting closer to nature.
