Make Time for Trees

Maple. Ebony. Red Wing Celtis. These types of wood might sound like options for hardwood flooring or furniture, but we’ve got a different application on our minds: Wristwatches.

WeWOOD uses reclaimed wood to makes its link-band watches. They’re surprisingly comfortable – the wood links feel light and smooth against your skin. The warmth of the wood material provides an interesting design twist. Nearly all the wristwatches we see are silver, gold or some kind of synthetic material. The unexpectedness of natural wood, with its distinctive colors and grains, makes these organic timekeepers stand out in a crowd.

Each WeWOOD watch is hypoallergenic and free of any toxic chemicals. The bands measure 8 inches long, and you can get a custom fit by removing links. Plus the Miyota-movement timepieces are water resistant, so you can wear one in the rain (but not in the shower). Best of all, the founders of WeWOOD, Emma Bogren and Daniele Guidi, are committed to using sustainable materials and supporting ecosystem restoration projects. For every watch purchased, one tree is planted.
