Whisky Frames

Scottish Charm

When Whisky Frames Makers Kristen and Ross Hunter were on the lookout for distinctive picture frames, they ended up—like so many Makers do—crafting their own. The foundation of the frames is a particularly unique one. The Hunters reclaim whisky barrels from distilleries and cooperages across Scotland, where they live, and refashion them into one-of-a-kind ways to display special memories.

Rich wood is accented with original steel bands while copper screws hold a photo in place against a background of traditional Harris Tweed that is spun, dyed, and woven by hand in the Outer Hebrides. The result of maintaining all that original character is a frame that’s also a slice of Scottish history. Trace one back to its barrel beginnings using the Hunter’s Frame Origin Archive online tool.
