Yikerz

Playing With Magnets

Beware the laws of attraction. You might think you’ve found a safe place to deposit one of your Yikerz game pieces, then suddenly… clink, clink, clink, clink, clink! A bunch of nearby game pieces fly across the board and attach themselves to your irresistibly magnetic piece. According to the rules of Yikerz, those clingers are now yours to deal with. And did we mention the object of Yikerz is for players to get rid of all their magnetic pieces?

Beware the laws of attraction. You might think you’ve found a safe place to deposit one of your Yikerz game pieces, then suddenly… clink, clink, clink, clink, clink! A bunch of nearby game pieces fly across the board and attach themselves to your irresistibly magnetic piece. According to the rules of Yikerz, those clingers are now yours to deal with. And did we mention the object of Yikerz is for players to get rid of all their magnetic pieces?

The unpredictability of Yikerz is one of its best qualities. It’s a fast paced game that’s easy to play, but hard to master -- which makes it fun to play over and over again. The game board consists of four separate pieces, which you can configure in more than 20 different ways. Some layouts make it easier to place game pieces without attracting any nearby pieces, and other layouts are more challenging. That’s just the way Don Reid, founder of game developer Wiggles 3D, planned it, so that Yikerz is quick to learn yet different each time you play.

We heard about Yikerz from Dina Peck, who says it’s her favorite new game. "Can a pocket-sized magnetic game bring a family together for some fun? Absolutely! My little ladies (4 and 7) love it, can play 10 times in a row, and enjoy beating me," Dina says.

May the force be with you…
