Natural Skin Care

Naturally Nourishing

You won’t find unnecessary additives or mystery ingredients in Own’s skin care line. Since its inception, the San Francisco company has been developing natural, minimalist formulas that are good for your skin and don’t include harsh chemicals.

A key ingredient in Own’s cleansers, lotions, creams and lip treatments is conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA. A patented formula derived from the safflower plant, CLA is designed to
enhance collagen levels, strengthen the skin’s ability to retain moisture, and stimulate skin-cell production. Moisturized and hydrated skin can mean fewer fine lines, less breakouts, and more vibrant skin.

We all want to nourish our skin and fight signs of aging. The founding team at Own -- which includes Gerry Chesser, Stephen Matt, and Brittania Boey -- makes it easy with precisely formulated products that moisturize and protect (Own’s day lotion has SPF 30 protection, for example), so you can enjoy skin that feels soft and firm, not greasy or overworked. Own’s honest, straightforward approach to skin care is as refreshing as its products.

@ Sue - Depending on your usage, the full kit is about a 1.5 month supply. This includes using the Cleanser twice a day, Silk Concentrate Serum twice a day, Night Cream once a day, Eye Cream twice a day, and SPF Day Lotion once a day.

@Mary Minton - We are in the process of getting gluten-free and vegan certified. Right now we do have the Leaping Bunny certification which means we are against animal testing!

@Mary Minton -- Yes, Gluten free would be great. I have found GF eye shadow and lipstick but not a good GF skin care option.

    Does the cleanser remove makeup?

@ Mia - To remove makeup, I recommend using the cleanser on a cotton pad and gently wiping your face (on dry skin). After wiping, rinse your face clean. If you are wearing heavier oil-based makeup, feel free to cleanse again (as normally directed).

The skin care "regiment" conjures up a delightful image of young men in snappy red soldier uniforms tending to my complexion. Alas! I think you mean "regimen." Otherwise, your products may actually be very good, and more information about them would be nice to have.

@convertibles rule - Great question! We conducted a third party clinical with 104 women over 12 weeks. In the study, clinical measurements were taken to verify all our claims. We saw significant results in skin softness, evenness, and firmness.

I actually have a question, do you have a line of lotions that do not contain SPF's in them ? I am allergic

A lot of skin care products come with a serum specifically for under the eyes and another for the rest of your face. Is it okay to use your firming silk product underneath the eyes?
