Difficult to use and broke

by

I loved the Carbon eyeglass Cleaner when I saw it on Grommet. When it worked it was great, but it became increasingly awkward to use because you need to make sure the two "arms" are wiping together in unison, which is not all that easy. Secondly - without warning and after very little use - one of the pads came right off the arm when I removed it from the case and it landed on the ground in a puddle of water. I have also seen several remarks on Facebook stating the same problems. Sadly, I can NOT endorse this product because it is ineffective.More > < Less

Disappointed

by

Simply doesn't work that well. Not a scam, just not a great product: The idea is that putting the peeps back in their little case chemically resets the cleaning pads so that you can clean again. It does work, a little bit: They clean better when you pull them back out. Yet, even a newly cleaned grommet tends to smear the glasses. Apparently the oil/dirt capacity of a clean peep isn't much. I find I usually clean my peeps (stick it back in the case and pull it back out again) at least a couple of times during a single eyeglass cleaning, and sometimes several times. Even in the best case--if I start with glasses that are already pretty clean, or if I go through several rounds of cleaning--the glasses, which are only a couple of months old and quite pristine, don't end up all that clean. You can still see some light smears.

They also aren't that well made; there's visible glue on the back side of the pad on one side. Tacky.

Don't Last

by

Mine did not even last 2 months before one of the pads feel off completely and there is no way I used them 500 times. I'm trying to figure out if it's a fluke and I can get them replaced but I can't find anywhere to inquire about that. I really liked them before they fell apart.More > < Less

Product is awkward to use & didn't really do any better than a soft cloth

Most times causes streaks

by

When this product works it's amazing, gets my lenses much clearer than traditional spray and cloth combo. But most times it smears and streaks the lenses, it's annoying, and I end up using spray and cloth anyways. I've tried different techniques too. Swirling the pads around my lenses, swiping side to side, up and down. Recharging the pads between cleaning each lense. Recharging multiple times per cleaning each lense, and they are still dirty. If the inventor has a suggestion I'm willing to try it, otherwise I won't repurchase or recommend these to anyone.More > < Less

About Peeps

Keep Lenses Clear

Get your glasses cleaner than cloths and sprays with this carbon eyeglass cleaner.

Peeps uses invisible carbon particles to repel dirt and leave your lenses crystal clear. It’s actually the same technology used by NASA to clean aboard the Space Station, because carbon helps repel dirt.

First, use the natural bristle brush to dust off any bigger particles. Then clean off oils with the two facing carbon pads—they sandwich each lens and clean it on both sides. The shape is designed to reach even dirt that builds up in nooks and crannies.

The pads are self-cleaning, too. While in the case, the friction between the pads causes the carbon molecules to shift, creating a fresh cleaning surface each time.

Slip Peeps into your pocket and carry a high-tech cleaning station wherever you go.
