Company Overview

The Grommet is a product discovery platform where we help amplify innovative and unique consumer products from Makers, inventors and small businesses to a community of 3.5 million supporters and early-adopters.

Every weekday we launch at least one new product. Our goal is to improve the way consumer products are launched, discovered, shared, and bought.

Since 2008, The Grommet has discovered more than 2,800 products in 16 categories, many of which have become household names, including FitBit, Food Should Taste Good, GoldieBlox, IdeaPaint, OtterBox, PopSockets, SimpliSafe, SodaStream, S’well, and many others.

The Grommet’s Discovery team spends each year seeking and tracking down innovative and unique products. Although they consider thousands every year, only 3% are added to The Grommet.

With each launch, The Grommet tells the story behind the product and the company, producing in-house editorial, video, and lifestyle photography.

In 2014, The Grommet launched The Grommet Wholesale at the first White House Maker Faire. The Grommet Wholesale currently works with more than 15,000 retailers across the U.S. to help small businesses distribute their products to gift shops, home and gardening stores, and supermarkets.

In 2017, Ace Hardware acquired a majority stake in The Grommet.
