Previse

Custom Skin Care

It’s Only Natural

Skin care products that sound too good to be true usually are. But Previse Skin Care doesn’t pretend to be a miracle worker or claim to restore the bloom of your youth. Instead, the Cape Cod company is building its reputation on top-quality products that promote healthy skin and are safe for the environment.

Previse is the brainchild of Sean Patrick Harrington, who assembled a team of scientists, botanists, DNA experts, holistic wellness gurus, and cosmetologists to refine the company’s skin care recipes. Products are
handcrafted in small batches, and the ingredients are selected for their unique healing and preventive properties: red algae to hydrate and cool the skin, rosemary to fight radiation damage, and wasabi for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial benefits, for instance. There are no harmful elements (such as PEG compounds, petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens, or sulfates), and Previse won’t use any ingredients that come from non-sustainable sources.

Previse recommends a three-step regimen, and it uses an online questionnaire to determine which products are best for each customer, based on factors such as a person’s genetics, personal skin care history, and geography. It’s a simple system from a talented team that’s passionate about preserving skin wellness and our planet.

Grommet Launch Conversation

    Sean

Hello Grommet fans! My name is Sean. This is my first time participating on a message board, so I’m a tad anxious. In my head I’m thinking, “What if no one posts a comment!?” So here’s my appeal. Firstly, we are all thrilled to have been awarded a Grommet. Secondly, Previse is doing something no other skin care brand is doing - customizing skin care to help create healthy skin. Frankly, healthy skin is hydrated, more elastic, looks brighter, has fewer lines and wrinkles, and is better able to combat environmental factors. The best part is that we’re doing it all from the tip of Cape Cod. So if you’re into skin care, Cape Cod, helping our environment, or just saying hi - I look forward to chatting with you!

Hi Sean: I have psoriasis. Any idea if this is helpful/healing for this condition? Thanks.

    @ Karen

Karen, psoriasis is certainly a challenge and, for some, an embarrassment. I would love to connect with you offline, and put you in touch with our Wellness Expert, Tamy Ottomeyer. Tamy is an RN with years of experience in the skin care field. Plus, if you are in/around the NY area, we might consider a consultation with Dr. Marmur.

As for Previse Skincare, you can be 100% certain that your skin will respond well to our recipes. There are known topical triggers for psoriasis, all of which are NOT in Previse. So in addition to any prescriptive oral or topical (cortisone) applications, Previse will help condition your skin. More, since we do not include caustic preservatives, nor silicone or petroleum, you can be confident that Previse is not stimulating an outbreak.

Please feel free to email at [email protected] and we can discuss you needs in more detail.

    Sincerely,

    Sean

Hi Sean, I've been using Previse for the past month as a part of the BeautyStat test. I'm seeing great results in the texture of my skin and my pores getting smaller (yea)! My two biggest concerns now are: I need a sunscreen in my product or on my face and I really need an eye cream. I've also been losing weight the past 3 months, and the skin around my eyes is now starting to show more wrinkles than usual. Will there be an eye cream added to the line?

    Thanks so much!

@ Beth thank you so much for your feedback and questions. Let me first address the SPF need. I am super happy to share that we are launching Previse SunSheer. If used as directed with other sun protection measures, this product reduces the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging as well as helps prevent sunburn.

This is a new addition to our growing family. SunSheer features micronized zinc and titanium in a proprietary ZeroSilicone recipe that is free of petroleum, PEGs, phthalates, and artificial fragrance.

Regarding the the more sensitive tissue around your eyes. We should watch this area closely for continued improvement using the three-step regimen. As Purify gently remove surface contaminants (make-up, oxidized cells, etc.) it also leaves a very nice lipid (oil) balance. Your eye area hates irritation! Second, the hyaluronic acid in Nutrify and Defend will add hydration. Our Defend recipe will, over time, help improve elasticity and skin density. So let's see what the next few weeks bring to your DNA.

    Is this helpful?

@Sean Harrington. The SunSheer would be a great product for me - I've already had BCCs removed from my jawline, and have been using a product with 55SPF for the past few years. I held off on any using any of it while I've been testing the Previse 3-step system for BeautyStat...but I hate to not have that protection. I live in Central Texas - and spent way too much time in the sun during my youth (I'm 53 now) - and really have to have an SPF on my face.

    When do expect the launch?

    Thanks!

    @ Beth

Beth, please continue using your SPF product with Previse. In fact, the third step, Defend, is the ideal pre-sun solution and foundation for your SPF! I highly recommend an SPF with Zinc and Titanium. These are physical UV blocks. There are quite a few to chose from, and if you have challenges, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

And yes, SunSheer will be a fabulous addition to your repertoire. Our current timeline is to launch later this year, although we will likely have a few beta tester samples available. The next time you order please send me an email and I will be happy to add a Petite sample :)

Beth, I failed to mention Previse HydroBalm. Come on over to the site and take a look at HydroBalm. I am 100% confident that this rich hydrator is exactly what you are looking for!

@Sean Harrington, So you're suggesting I use the Hydro Balm as an eye cream? My skin is very oily and I don't use "rich" moisturizers on all of my face - just around the eye area.

That's one thing I really like about this line - the Nutrify doesn't feel like any "moisturizer" I've ever used...it goes on so light, and dries so nicely.

I've really appreciated the opportunity to have been a part of the test group BStat.

    @ Beth

To your question about HydroBalm... absolutely, and without hesitation, YES :)

The new addition to our growing family is already a huge hit. In the words of one Previse Skincare fan, "Holy Hannah!! I just got my Previse HYDRO{{{{BOMB}}}}} in the mail today. I say bomb intentionally because it's like getting hit with a water balloon of love, filled with the fluffiest non-sticky, non-greasy, spa-scenty buttercream frosting you ever wanted to schmear all over yourself. As they say in Brooklyn..."TA DIE FOR!" My skin thanks you!!!

As for excess oil production I am sure you are already witnessing overall improved condition and health. This is a result of the selective ingredients we use that help to improve and maintain healthy skin. And healthy skin hydrated, thicker and more elastic, better able to combat the environment, has fewer lines and wrinkles, and more even tone. A little known fact about excess oil... you skin wants for hydration. Previse gives it to you!!

Is this good for teenaged skin needs? How long does one bottle last?

    @ kate

Kate, the short answer to your question is.. yes, Previse is wonderful for teens :)

In fact, like all preventive regimen, starting young and early is the best way to build healthy practices. Our youngest client is aged 15 and lives in a very dry and arid climate. He is also an avid/competitive swimmer, so taking care of his DNA that is constantly exposed to harsh conditions (weather and chlorine) is a priority. Our most mature client is 72 years young. She asked us if she was too mature to begin Prevising. Our comment - no way! It is never too early to start gently cleansing and nourishing your skin. I'll see if she has posted on our blog or other social networks. Her email comments have been inspiring. Her skin is glowing, and much firmer. More, she sees fewer lines and wrinkles with collagen improvement. Plus, she loves that while she is taking care of herself, she is not polluting the environment.

I hope this answers your question.

Kate, I failed to mention that with twice daily use our Previse Skincare regimen lasts approximately 90 days! We always advise clients to only use a small amount each occasion. The recipes are unique and very potent. A little goes a long way.

Hey Sean! I have a problem with past sun damage. (I was a competitive swimmer in the 60's-70's, long before SPF's were prevalent. Can any of your products work to fade dark spots from years of too much sun?

    @ Kara

Thank you for you for posting your question. We actually included Daisy (Bellis Perennis) Flower Extract. Clinical results show reversible and significant lightening effect. Of course we balanced the use of Daisy Flower Extract by Previse Skin Type to achieve the best results - reduced pigmentation and overall evenness of skin tone.

I hope this answers your question.

    Sincerely,

    Sean

    Hi Sean

I have been using Previse (Skin Type 3) for a couple of months now and totally love the whole product line. I am especially liking using the Purify as a make-up remover in addition to, as a replacement cleanser. I am very happily curious as to why I have not noticed any irritation around my eyes which have usually been so sensitive even though I periodically use topical retinoids to help my crow's feet?

    Thanks

    Steph

    @Stephanie

Thank you for your Previse love! We are thrilled you noticed that Previse does not irritate or otherwise bother your eyes. That's because we do not include harsh surfactants (detergents) to our Purify - or any other product for that matter. We use and amino acid derived from coconut oil that gently cleanses, protects and repairs your skin. You will find most cleansers use sodium laureth sulfate, or similar detergent that, for some, will irritate the skin and nearly always irritate the eyes.
