Handcrafted in Colombia with melon seeds · Made with the mission to empower local women
A melon seed bracelet makes a bright, beautiful, and socially-conscious statement. Discarded melon seeds sourced in Colombia are cleaned, dyed, and handcrafted into an eye-catching accessory by women artisans. Each is made with the mission of providing them with employment and economic opportunities.
Artyfactos Maker Angela Sanchez is a native Colombian, and she often returned to visit her parents. Just as often, she’d bring locally crafted jewelry back to the United States as gifts. The bright, statement-making accessories received so much attention she knew she wanted to share them with the world.
The necklaces and bracelets are handcrafted in Colombia with some surprising natural materials—melon and acai berry seeds make up each distinctive piece. The seeds are locally sourced and cleaned and dyed before they live a second life as jewelry. Beyond creating these beautiful finishing touches, Artyfactos is helping the women who make it all. They’re given employment and economic opportunities along with the tech and manufacturing tools needed to help their businesses grow.
