In the summer of 2015, Dan Cranston made a bacon-wrapped chicken recipe on the grill that was really good. It was a hit with the family and he made it several times that summer. Before long Dan realized the toothpicks he was using to hold the bacon on were not a good solution, the ends would burn off making them difficult to locate and remove and also making them a safety concern if someone was to choke on one. Dan looked for a product on the market to hold the bacon on and did not find anything. He went to work designing a solution and that is how Grill Pinz came to be.
