The Kelly behind Kelly Creates is Kelly Klapstein, a teacher turned calligraphy artist and instructor. When she first tried calligraphy as a hobby, Kelly was amazed at how calming it was. Her past as a teacher led her to begin sharing her newfound passion and techniques with others. Kelly’s workbooks and pens help beginners get started with brush lettering by building on a foundation of making basic strokes on tracing paper and working up to connecting letters. You can pick from traditional or modern letter styles and because Kelly is all about being hands-on, she even made her own ideal dual-tip brush pens to work with, too. We think Kelly has created an approachable and user-friendly way to get folks into calligraphy. It’s an outlet for meditation, artistic expression, or both at the same time.
